Dana's place is great. Beautiful location. The hosts work hard to make sure everything is just right. We went there to do some annual planning meetings with some co-workers... it's an ideal location to get away. We would definitely look at returning again in the future.
We visited Coyote Cottage the second weekend of April. The place was far more beautiful, peaceful, and serene than we imagined. Incredible view and a beautiful home that was very clean and included everything you would need to enjoy a stay away from home. We had a little one with us and used BabyQuip to deliver a pack-and-play and a high chair as we flew in from the Midwest. There are so many beautiful places to visit, hike, and drive within a reasonable distance from the home. Dana was great and allowed an early check-in as our flight came in earlier in the day. I would visit again and suggest this place to anyone considering a trip to this area. Thanks for the memories!
The location was beautiful. Despite there being quite a bit of snow yet in early April, the roads and driveway were clear.

During the warm months, there is no better way to explore the beauty of Colorado’s landscape than hiking or biking a nearby mountain trail. Black Hawk is minutes from Golden Gate Canyon State Park and dozens of trailheads along the front range.

Depending on your destination, skiing is 1-3 hours away. Locals head to Echo Mountain, Eldora (near Boulder), or Loveland (near Georgetown) for a more low-key experience. We’re also within a few hours of Arapahoe Basin, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Aspen, and other snowy delights. There is a Nordic center near Breck if you want to try out cross-country skiing, and the summer months are a great time to rent a kayak to explore Dillon Reservoir.
There is no public transport, such as a bus, Uber, etc. nearby. You need a 4WD vehicle to get around during all months of the year except July and August. During July and August, an AWD vehicle is acceptable.
The easiest way to get out and explore is by hopping on CO-119 to explore North or South, CO-119 to I-70 to explore deeper into the mountains to the West, or CO-46 to explore East of Black Hawk.
