The cabin is a two-level open concept space, with kitchen, bathroom, and dining/living room on the main level. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven range, fridge, microwave, and cooking and dining essentials. The living area has a tiny morso woodstove, comfortable seating for dining or lounging, and a water view through the front window/doors. A second floor loft with cathedral ceilings features a spacious bedroom area (queen bed), as well as a secondary loft area extending to large windows overlooking the Petpeswick inlet. The window seat provides a cozy lounge with an epic view - your pet is welcome on the floor lounge but please use the pet blanket provided! The space features a mix of vintage and modern furniture and fixtures - a little eccentric, a little quirky, and just the right amount of imperfect. The cabin is designed for optimum coziness and comfort, while covering all the essential amenities. It's not a tiny house, but it's small - or as we like to think, efficient and compact. The cabin is fully insulated and heated with electric baseboards in addition to the woodstove. Cooling is available from natural sea breezes through the operable windows. The wood-fired hot tub is just outside the patio door on a large front deck, which also provides space for outdoor dining and lounging. The wraparound deck extends to a back deck with BBQ area. The cabin sits just a few meters from the shoreline, with an east-facing view over the water. The inlet is like a mix between a bay and a lake: it's tidal, so the water level changes constantly, but with no ocean waves the surface is calm and peaceful. The inlet is home to many species of birds including herons, loons, ducks, and of course seagulls. Two paddleboards and a canoe are available for guests to use; there is no dock, so water shoes/sandals are recommended. Life jackets are provided. Swimming in the inlet is lovely, but the bottom is quite muddy in most areas so it's best to swim at high tide. If you are traveling with pets, a pet essentials kit is provided to make sure your pawed pal is comfortable. For families with young children: the space is kid-friendly for children aged 6 and under. The window seat converts to a floor beds, about 4 feet long; kiddos get to sleep in the best spot in the house! There is also plenty of space beside in the bedroom loft for a travel crib. The cabin is not baby-proofed (plants, cords for lights, etc.), so please use your judgement based on your child's age/needs.
