Scotia · 整套出租单元 · 1室1床1.0卫 · 可住2人 · Little green mill house
Make yourself at home in a cozy mill house in the historic town of Scotia. Built in 1908, the space is functional, peaceful, cozy, rustic and affordable, with amazing natural light in the mornings, this private duplex sits off Hwy 101 along the Eel River in Humboldt County. Only a few minutes from the avenue of the giants, fantastic hiking trails and cool swimming holes. The unit features a full bath with tub/shower, full bedroom with a queen size bed medium firm mattress, walk in closet and living room/kitchen. Wifi is included and Netflix as well. No contact entry is provided. The vintage 1952 GE electric stove is fully operational, basic cookware and dishes are provided as well as a fridge/freezer. Please keep in mind that some of the features of the house are very old, built in 1908 (such as wood floors and stove) have lots of history and character and should not be expected like new. Please also be aware that the home is close to an operating sawmill and occasionally there is noise associated with sawmill operations.
We had a great time and loved Scotia. We had everything we needed and would love to come back for another stay.
My stay was entirely enjoyable. The house was spotless, tons of amenities, well stocked. So cute and cozy. The host was super responsive to any questions I had. I'll definitely stay again when I return to the area. Thank you so much!
Cute little cottage in quiet neighborhood (we live in a city and this is a tiny town). Felt very safe. Hoby's Market is around the corner and good for basic groceries, although check your receipt carefully for discrepancies. Super clean. Overall we were very pleased.
My mom and I stayed here for a few days to check out the Avenue of the Giants. Unfortunately, more than half of the Avenue of the Giants was closed :( However, the little green mill house was close so it was perfect for what we were looking for. We drove to Ferndale, and Arcata as well. The place was very clean, quiet, and smelled good. The heater worked great and there was super hot water in the shower which is a big deal for me. The bed however was extremely firm. I like a firm bed but this was almost uncomfortable even with the mattress cover provided. My mom ended up sleeping on the couch most nights. IOverall, a great stay and would stay again!!!!
Only a few minutes from the hidden gem the Humboldt Redwood Company's Fish exhibit which is free and open to the public. The local market and deli Hoby's is a five minute walk and the historic Scotia lodge with full bar is only a five minute walk.
