You'll have this cottage all to yourself 5 mins from town! With multiple sleeping options - a comfortable bedroom, a cozy loft futon and a daybed - it's great for couples, friend groups and solo travelers. Relax, whip up a meal in the fully-appointed kitchen, catch up on work at the stand/sit desk, or enjoy dinner and relax on the private patio. A perfect quiet refuge with all the comforts of home, and the gorge is your playground. The hosts are right next door, happy to welcome you! Although the lot is 2 acres, the cottage is approximately 70 feet from the main house. There are trees between to shield the view, but the hosts do drive past the cottage to get to their home, and you may very likely encounter them during your stay. We respect your privacy and follow your lead, but if you would like a completely private stay, you may be happier in an alternative location. There is a queen size bed with a medium firm rating mattress in the main bedroom, an extra long single mattress daybed in the main living area, and a full size foam folding mattress in the upstairs loft space. The second "bedroom" is actually the loft space (Airbnb doesn't have a way to list a loft space with sleeping capacity except as a "bedroom"). The loft is 150 square feet and visually private, but it requires use of a ladder and there is no door or railing (photos included in this listing). Regarding the loft: There is no bathroom, no heat and no A/C in the upstairs loft space. There is a space heater and a fan. However, during very cold or very hot weather guests may prefer to utilize the downstairs bedroom and the twin XL daybed in the living room. Due to a steep ladder granting access the upstairs loft, no children under 12 years of age are allowed to stay in the unit, and guests accept all responsibility for their own well-being and safety when using the ladder to access the loft space. No guests with a history of sleepwalking, mobility or balance limitations or difficulties with agility are permitted to climb the ladder, utilize the space and/or sleep in the loft. Furthermore, there are sloping ceilings in the loft and no guest who is unable to maintain awareness and control of their head when moving in the space is allowed access. The kitchen features a tempered glass four burner stove, a full-sized refrigerator, an on-the counter oven and a microwave. It does NOT have a dishwasher nor a full-size oven. It's set up for short or long-term stays, with plenty of pots and pans, a blender, toaster, coffee maker, cutlery, dishes, etc. A mini-split heat pump provides heat and A/C, and there are supplemental forced air heaters as well. The cottage has a washer and dryer in the bathroom and a stand-up shower (and no bathtub). The flooring is stained concrete on the ground level . Please note that the private road and lane to the property are plowed erratically during snowfalls and access can't be guaranteed during periods of winter storms.
