For larger groups an occasional 4th bedroom is available at an extra charge of £200 if requested at the time of booking. Dog Friendly, we charge £30 for a dog for the duration of your stay and will accept 1 dog. Ingle Cottage was once a former cow barn and has been lovingly refurbished into 3 good sized bedrooms for up to 6 guests, (8 with the additional bedroom) it is a warm and inviting, modern designed cottage whilst still keeping some of its original features to emphasise and embrace the age of the property. Located in a small village so gives you the peace and quiet of the countryside to enjoy but still close enough to the market towns of Bakewell and Buxton which are only a 10 minute drive away either direction. The cottage invites you through the front door into the large open plan kitchen / diner with a handy porchway to take off those muddy boots. The dining area features a good sized table that can comfortably seat 6-8 guests and is cosily positioned next to the log burner this makes a warm and inviting space to sit and relax chatting or helping out preparing food and drinks. The kitchen is modern and well equipped, having all the modern appliances you would expect to find at a high standard holiday let. With ample storage space and plenty of cooking utensils you shouldn't have to worry about a thing. Towards the rear of the kitchen in the back lobby is a doorway leading to the rear courtyard and also a handy downstairs w/c with basin. The striking wooden archway with double doors leads you from the kitchen into the cosy lounge. These doors can be shut in the evening to create a cosy space to relax and unwind after a day exploring the stunning Peak District, with 2 large sofas, fireplace and TV its the perfect place to spend the end of the day. The stairs lead to the first floor from the corner of the room. Also leading from the lounge is a ground floor bedroom - there is a small, carpeted step into the room. This room is light and airy with handy corner vanity unit and fixed double bed. On the first floor you have 2 further bedrooms and shared bathroom. At the top of the stairs is Bedroom 1, classed as the master bedroom, with a modern and stylish en suite featuring a corner shower unit, basin and toilet. 2 windows bring in loads of natural light. There are then a few steps down to Bedroom 2, the twin room, with stunning double windows to enjoy the village location, fixed twin beds dominate the room with plenty of space for storage. Across from this room is the shared bathroom, finished in a soft grey and white decor the bathroom offers a bath with shower attachment over, w/c and basin. On the second floor there is an occasional loft room, (rented at additional cost) with a double bed, storage and fabulous views across the hills from the skylights window. It is perfect for teenagers or young adults, we wouldn't recommend for young children or guests with limited mobility due to the access via some steep steps. Access to this room is from the corridor on the first floor. To the rear of the property you have off street parking for 2 cars through the 5 bar gate, there is more on street parking should you need it. The garage offers secure storage for bikes or motorbikes and also houses the garden furniture chairs if they are not out for your stay. There is a small but private courtyard with outdoor table and chairs to enjoy on those warmer days and evenings with a BBQ for your use too, just remember to bring your own charcoal and lighting equipment.
Fantastic stay, had everything we needed and more. Lovely peaceful location and was great being dog friendly. Perfect base if you want to check out the Peak District. The local pub serves incredible food and again was dog friendly. The cottage was spotless and we felt at home right away.
Ingle cottage was perfect for what we needed as a family coming together for a long Easter weekend in the Peak District. Thank you to Lisa for allowing us to use her beautiful cottage as our ideal base.
A lovely cottage for walks right from the front door and short drives to Buxton and Bakewell. The cottage was very cosy with good heating which we appreciated on cold nights, with well equipped kitchen and very comfortable beds. Plus helpful host and owner. Excellent all round.
This property was stunning! Clean and well presented throughout with fantastic facilities. Well-equipped kitchen for entertaining. Quality appliances and everything you may need. The hosts left teabags and coffee bags which were really handy as this was overlooked by us and so were much appreciated. The bathrooms and bedrooms were stylish, spotless, functional and well equipped. Haveing parking space also helped but there was ample parking opportunities on the street. The heating was responsive and modern with NEST control. The log fire in the dining space was very handy and the hosts even prepared the fire with kindling and a supply of logs. i cannot really fault anything. the stay was exceedingly comfortable and the local information left by the host was really helpful as was the advanced brochure that was sent after booking. Just wish we could have stayed for longer. Recommended!
Chelmorton is a classic White Peak limestone village set in stunning upland scenery and a very quiet and peaceful village. It is one of the highest villages not only in Derbyshire, but all of England and this region is known locally as Top Country.
One of the dominant features of the White Peak landscape are the limestone walls and there is nowhere better to see these than in and around Chelmorton. The local community is very warm and welcoming with many small farms dotted up and down the village, don't be surprised to see cows and sheep wandering up the village.
The village is set predominantly along the main street which runs all the way to the bottom of Chelmorton Low. Here you will find the Church of St John the Baptist and standing opposite is the fab Peak District pub, The Church Inn. Here you will find great homemade food, local ales and a very warm welcome.
Further afield you will find the pretty market towns of Bakewell and Buxton less than 10 minutes drive from the cottage. Here you will find an abundance of local businesses and independent retailers selling lots of lovely things.
