Spend your days unwinding by the babbling brook, enjoying the sauna, and connecting with the natural expanses of the Catskills forest. This clean and airy home is set on 5+ acres of mostly wooded land, the property directly borders the Slide Mountain Wilderness and is less than 30 min to towns like Phoenicia and Woodstock. Centered around an open living space with cathedral ceilings and lots of natural light, the first floor has a fully air conditioned living, dining and kitchen area that leads to a bedroom, full bath and laundry/storage area with washer and dryer. The upstairs has two loft bedroom areas separated by catwalk, one with a half bath. Rear deck is full equipped with all-season lounge furniture dining table/chairs. And screened-in porch with ceiling fan overlooks the Wittenberg Brook and 4-person cedar barrel sauna.

Thank you for an amazing and peaceful stay. The sauna was fantastic, the sound of the babbling brook sublime! One highlight was the amazing lp/vinyl collection...so fun to go back and listen to music the way we used to....starting on Side 1, Track 1 while devouring the album cover and liner notes. Thank you!
This place was beautiful. The babbling brook running behind the house and the small sauna were great. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a few simple meals. Overall, a really wonderful homey and comfortable stay. We hope to come back!
Great place to reset and connect with nature.
Fantastic secluded location with just about everything you could ask for in a Catskills retreat. Large windows and skylights provided ample amounts of natural light inside. The property is great with plenty of room to relax outside- deck, sauna, fire pit, stream…take your pick. Wonderfully secluded without being inconvenient. It was just what we were looking for in our winter getaway and would definitely return.
Amazing home, wonderful location and a perfect setup. D J was responsive, the perfect host. The stream is so calming and the views magical.

A two-hour drive from NYC, the hamlet of West Shokan is in the Town of Olive, set between the Catskill Mountains and Ashokan Reservoir. The house is a 30-minute drive west of Kingston and Woodstock, and close to natural attractions like Peekamoose Blue Hole and the Esopus Creek.
10 to 20 minutes to local favorite eateries like Marty’s Mercantile, Bread Alone and Phoenicia Diner.
