Great staff, great food, great views. Pristine, private and perfect for our honeymoon stopover. My wife is from Lombok and we won’t hesitate in stopping here when visiting family and friends. Thank you for a wonderful stay :)
we had a great stay in the privat villa. the staff is very friendly. the inhouse restaurant is great. it's very quiet and just a short drive to the village with more restaurants. thank you very much
A luxurious resort with super friendly staff. The accommodation was outstanding with private pool and beautiful tropical plants surrounding the pool and outdoor bath and shower (there's a second shower inside). Very effective air-conditioning. Stunningly views from the main infinity pool and restaurant of the sea and Bali's volanco in the distance. Would recommend a trip to Gili Meno which can be organised by reception - we wanted to see the underwater statues and then swim with turtles - using a car and then speedboat, all this was possible in 3 hours for IDR1.8m, but you can visit the other Gili islands and take all day for only a little more.
Located at the west coast of Lombok, it will take you around 1 hour and 15 minutes to reach the new International Airport on Lombok. The town of Senggigi spreads out along nearly 10 kilometers of coastal road. This road continues north to Bangsal, port for the Gili Islands.
Along the way, a fantastic scenery of the north west coast of Lombok awaits. Most travelers start or end their stay at Senggigi because of the easy access to Mataram Airport and accommodations options are available to all budgets. If you are frugal or intrepid and take the slow ferry from Bali, it's best to arrange transport in advance from the ferry dock to Senggigi, since the dock on the Lombok side is in a remote spot several kilometers south of Mataram.
There are plenty of activities you can do to complete your holiday. Sightseeing or touring organized by reputable local tour operators is the best option to discover what Lombok has to offer. Renting a car or motor cycle is also good alternative to get around, either self-driving, or with a driver so you can relax and enjoy the view.
When you arrive by public boat at Bangsal Harbour, it will take you about 25 minutes to reach Senggigi. This is possible by taxi or by a public driver. The fast boat to Lombok departing from Padang bai Bali, will bring you in about 2.5 hours to Bangsal harbor Lombok.
Land Activities:
Biking.
Experience the freedom afforded by two-wheel transportation and explore Indonesia’s scenic Lombok coast by bicycle. Explore on your own or let us pair you with an experienced guide to see areas such as:
~ Traditional rice terraces, still farmed and harvested in the same way they have been for centuries.
~ Numerous local villages, noted for their intricate arts and crafts, spice markets, and local produce.
~ Suranadi Village and its accompanying rainforest.
~ Endut Village, home of an ancient Lingsar temple.
~ Banyumulek, a pottery village where traditional skills have been passed on through generations.
~ Nearby beaches, perfect for surfing, scuba & snorkel, sunbathing and more.
Avid, long-distance bikers can explore Sukerare, home to gifted weavers making unique songket and ikat cloths, often guided only by their imagination as they seldom constrain themselves to set drawn patterns, as well as Lombok’s largest clove and coffee plantation.
Hiking.
The rolling hills and scenic vistas of Lombok Island make for ideal hiking conditions. Our resort staff can suggest a number of hikes that seamlessly meld scenic vistas and with a hiker’s desired activity level. Some of our favorite hiking destinations include:
~ Rinjani, the second highest volcano in Indonesia at 3,726 meters above sea level. The huge crater near the top contains a beautiful lake named Danau Segara Anak. The name refers to the color of the water in this crater lake in what remains of a volcanic mountain, explaining the hot water found there.
~ Kerandangan, just two kilometers from nearby Senggigi, has a popular beach as well as a clearly-marked hiking path. Along this scenic walk, find small waterfalls, indigenous monkeys, a rainforest and a variety of tropical plants and bird life.
~ Rice Terraces, which allow guests to experience firsthand the traditional rice production method that has been used for centuries.
~ Waterfall hikes, including Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep Waterfall, one of the most popular waterfalls in the world, as well as Benang Kelambu and Kelep Waterfall, both of which are accessible on day trips.
Water Activities:
Pools.
Our luxury beachfront infinity pool is a communal place for guests to gather and exchange stories of their time in Indonesia and Lombok, and sunbathe on the warm timber deck. Pool villa guests also enjoy the privacy of their own plunge pool.
In keeping with our commitment to the best and most update environmental practices, we’ve chosen salt water systems for all the pools at Santai. Our guests relish in the striking, dramatic sunsets viewed from our pool deck and Pearl’s Sunset Terrace Bar near the pool.
Beach.
Indonesia’s beaches are legendary. With more than 17,500 islands and 80,000 kilometers of coastline, there’s surf, sun and sand for everyone.
Scuba & Snorkel. Swim, splash and dive from Jeeva Santai. Enthusiasts will love the nearby Gili Islands, an easy day trip from Jeeva Santai. Gilis, or “small islands” in Sasak, are plentiful along the Lombok coast, but the most famous of the archipelago are known as the Three Gilis: Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno and Gili Air.
In 2014, Lonely Planet named Gili Trawangan, home to more than 3,500 marine species, as one of the top ten places in the world to learn to dive. And it’s just a day trip from the privacy and luxury of Santai!
Our hotel staff is happy to coordinate diving trips and transportation for our guests. We’ll work with you to determine your experience level and help select a company that matches with your ability – many are even willing to pick you up right from our beach!
Boating.
Guests shouldn’t just be content to gaze upon the waters of the Indian Ocean during their visit to Jeeva Santai. They should get out and experience the magic of Indonesia and the Lombok coast firsthand.
Let us arrange a boat and guide to take you out to explore the many natural wonders around us. Jeeva Santai is located on the Wallace Line, the natural demarcation line between Asia and Australia first recorded by the famed British naturalist Alfred Wallace. Wallace was the first to discover many of the area’s most notable natural species, as well as the division of flora and fauna that occurs between Asia and Australia. Wallace strongly influenced the work of Charles Darwin and his studies of the Indonesian archipelago and its flora, fauna and culture, make for fascinating reading.
Our staff is happy to coordinate dive trips to the Gili Islands with local diving companies and also day trips by boat to the Gili’s, offering knowledgeable, English-speaking local tour guides who can offer the best locations for snorkeling and other water activities, share key historic and cultural facts about Indonesia, and even point out the best beaches for private sunbathing.
A day trip to the Gili Islands for snorkeling, diving or just for lunch is available by fast boat from Senggigi. Traditional Indonesian fishing boat excursions with local guides leave directly from the beach in front of the resort and offer a one-of-a-kind experience
Kayaking.
The calm, warm waters of the Lombok coast make for smooth adventures for novices and experienced kayakers alike. Kayaks can be rented at Cafe Paradiso, a short walk up the beach from Jeeva Santai. For a longer kayak trip out of Mangsit Bay, we recommend that our guests hire a guide to accompany them on their adventure.
We can also arrange for a tour company to escort our guests to nearby Blue Bay for a personal adventure or a guided tour, taking in the sights and sounds around the Balinese Hindu temple at Batu Bolong, one of the more sacred spots for Lombok’s Hindu community.
Surfing Experienced and novice surfers alike flock to Indonesia’s Lombok coast for its warm waters and wide range of surf-able waves. Our staff can direct surfers of all levels to challenging breaks and scenic landscapes, including directly in front of Santai on Mangsit beach, or a day boat trip to the ever popular Desert Point, which reminds many riders of the Bali of several decades prior. Our team can also coordinate board rentals and facilitate surf lessons.
