Bring the whole family or friend groups to this rustic cottage with lots of room for fun or relax in front of the wood/turf burning stove. And don't forget your 4 legged friends. The home is located 1/2 mile from the quaint Creegh village and a short drive from several wonderful beaches- whitestrand, Spanish Point and Kilkee. Trump International is a few miles away with Lehinch and the Burren around 1hr drive away. This house was built in the 1800s as part of the O'Brien farm, although we no longer farm the land. It's basic & rustic in nature with wooden panelling walls but giving in communal space. There are several areas to hang out in, a game area in the kitchen diner, a conservatory to take in the evening sun, and / or sit outside toasting marshmallows by the Fire Pit. On a cold evening, there is no better place than chilling out in front of the roaring stove. The kitchen has all the essential items plus a Cafetiere and a 9 in 1 air fryer.
Myself, my wife and our 2 dogs recently spent a 4 night break in Benny's Rustic cottage. It was warm cosy and comfortable. The location is ideally situated for visiting Doonbeg, Kilrush, Kilkee, Spanish Point and Lehinch. We look forward to staying there again sometime soon. Martin
Linda and her husband were very friendly and helpful. I was staying for work and my comings and goings were very itinerant so I didn't need to ask for anything from Linda. The lovely welcome and the helpful guidebook made it clear that any request would be addressed swiftly. There is plenty of parking and the village is walkable: It has a pub and a local shop. The coast is near enough that you can hear it when the sea is raging. The house is easily warmed by the oil fired heating. I only needed it a few hours a day. I didn't get round to using the stove with turf but it would undoubtedly be very cozy in the living room. Superb value and highly recommended.
Creegh is the heart of West of Clare and ideally located to visit Wild Atlantic Way, Loop Head Lighthouse, Kilkee, Trump International, Cliffs Of Moher, Burren and local towns. All between minutes and an hours drive.
There is so much to do in the area, a spectacular cliff walk in Kilkee, swimming or water sports in local beaches, strolling through time in local towns and villages, golfing in award winning courses, dinning in fantastic eateries, taking in the splendour of the wild Atlantic way or maybe even a day trip to Arran Islands. "And if its music you're after, you may come to Clare."
Should you find yourself in a local shop, pub, or church, a friendly welcome awaits you.
I highly recommend a visit to the local villages of Creegh, Cooraclare, and Doonbeg. It's like going back in time with a modern twist.
A car is most desirable as public transport is not great. I cycle a lot, and most beaches/attractions are within cycling distances, but the roads can be busy, so perhaps not best for a young family.
