Porthallow · 整套民居 · 3室3床2.0卫 · 可住6人 · Converted chapel with sea views on the Lizard
This is a beloved family holiday home in a sleepy Cornish village on the Lizard, moments from the beach. The house is a coverted Methodist chapel and the first floor is open plan with high ceilings, wonderful light, wood burning stove and sea views. Downstairs you will find three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The house is simple, stylish and very easy - it's a great base to explore both the Lizard Peninsula and the Helford River. You can enter the chapel from the ground floor or first floor. On the ground floor there is plenty of space to hang coats and store shoes. There are three bedrooms each with a double bed. One bedroom is small but has a sea view and a chest of drawers. The other two have big wardrobe cupboards. The largest bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with a bath and shower attachment. The communal bathroom has a walk in shower and a washing machine and dryer. Upstairs there is a big open plan room. There is a sitting room area with a wood burning stove, a kitchen area and a dining area. There is an extra fridge and a freezer on the ground floor.
Se você procura uma experiência única em sua viagem à Cornwall, a casa de Polly é absolutamente perfeita! adorei o lugar e a atmosfera
I recently had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful converted chapel with my family and I must say, it was a very pleasent experience. The attention to detail in the renovation of this historic building was remarkable creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that blended old-world charm with modern comforts. The interior was exceptionally well thought out providing a cosy and serene retreat. One of the highlights was the thoughtful inclusion of games which added a delightful touch to our evenings. As music enthusiasts, we were also thoroughly impressed by the CD collection provided. It showcased excellent taste, catering to a wide range of musical preferences and enhancing our overall experience. There is genuinely nothing negative to report about our stay. The entire experience was seamless and deeply satisfying. This stunning property has left a lasting impression on us, a rare find that feels like both a luxurious escape and a home away from home. Thankyou Polly :)
Fantastic place to stay. Lovely beach (great for a morning swim even in October!). It was so quiet here and we never got tired of looking at the wonderful view of the bay out of the window. Very comfortable house and well equipped. There were also great walks from the house . We loved our stay here and hope to come again in the future
The Chapel was exactly as described , it is an idyllic building that stands out in the lovely quiet village of Porthallow. The Chapel itself on arrival was clean & tidy , with clean linen . The three bedrooms(1 en suite )on ground floor are of good size & have plenty of storage The stair way leads up to the wonderful sitting room with it’s high ceiling, great views of the village & the sea The kitchen is well equipped & ample dining area Overall we so enjoyed staying in beautiful Porthallow with its local pub & pebble beach , if you want chilled & quiet here it is
The chapel is a little gem!! We have just returned from a 3 night stay with my daughter and grandchildren and it really exceeded expectations. Everything is provided , beautifully restored and sympathetically furnished, comfy beds and linen, everything you could want in the kitchen with all the basics needed to cook (supplied on a top up when used basis which was fantastic)....and there is plenty of space. The location of the chapel is totally fabulous, it feels as if you are suspended in air above the sea providing the most stunning view...I could have looked out that window from the sitting room all day! and to top it off we watched dolphins swimming in the bay on our last evening. Thank you for a wonderful stay and we hope to return again soon :-)
The village of Porthallow has its own beach where you can swim. There is also a pub The Five Pilchards and two cafes. There are coastal paths leading out of the village in both directions - this is wonderful walking country.
This part of Cornwall is probably best explored by car, although Porthallow would be a good base for a walking or cycling holiday. There are a few local buses.
We have our own parking space just across the road from the house. Any extra cars can park for free on the beach.
