Welcome to this popular artist’s hideaway in the remote fishing village of Nyksund island. Normally a residence for artist from around the world, we have now made it available to rent for travelers in the summer months to experience the midnight sun in spectacular natural surroundings. A stay in the 180 sqm loft of a traditional wooden fishing wharf is a special experience. It’s a place to get away from the hustle of daily life, refuel and be inspired alone or with close family and friends. This hideaway lies right on the quayside and looks out over both the harbor, and the high seas. Here you can fall asleep to the sound of waves crashing on the rocks. Enjoy spectacular views of the nearby islands, birds, seals, whales, sunrises and sunsets, the northern lights, the midnight sun. The loft can accommodate up to four guests, in a double bedroom and there are also two single beds in the open plan studio space. There is a spacious bathroom with a bathtub to soak in after a long hike in the mountains. There is also a simple but fully equipped kitchen with complimentary coffee and tea, and some basic cooking ingredients. There is also a secluded and private back terrace to enjoy, with a charcoal grill for celebrating your daily catch. Yes we also have a fishing rod available to our guests! Now it's not always sunny on the island, so we have a large sofa, and a lovely farmhouse daybed too, for times when you want to sit under the blanket, watch the rain and the wind, but still get a great view of the changing nature in front of the woodburning fireplace. It is truly a transformative experience staying here. It is more personal than a hotel or guesthouse as it is an authentic live & workspace for artists. We have a minimum 3-night stay as we believe this will provide you with the best experience at our unique place. And most of our guest wish they could stay longer, so maybe book a week?
