The location of this property was definitely tranquil and we enjoyed he wildlife that we saw and the peaceful setting. The exterior however had not been mowed in some time so the grace was long. There were weeds everywhere and even a pop bottle full of cigerette butts found on the back deck. There is a beautiful covered front deck but no chairs to sit on to enjoy it and no chairs other than a patio table on the back deck. Our check in time was 4:00pm which was already pushing it for us because we had a wedding to go to. Upon arriving the cleaning lady was still there so we asked her how much longer it would be and she said it would be an hour. Since the checkout time is 10:00 I don't see how she didn't have time to finish the cleaning. She said she had to finish washing the sheets. She had also not washed the towels and when she finally did leave the towels weren't done. The house had not had a deep clean in a very long time and she didn't even mop floors.

The home was in a good location-close to the city & outdoor attractions. Unfortunately, the home was extremely dirty, the air conditioning didn't work and when I let them know, they said to check the windows for sensors. There are no such thing on any of these windows. I was unsure if the bedding was changed & the overall cleanliness was less than desirable. It looked like someone just moved out & nobody had cleaned. The cold air vents were caked with dirt. Looked like they hadn't been cleaned. There was a horrific smell in the kitchen. I didn't use the hot tub or the back patio due to the amount of weeds and lack of cleanliness. There was a person that came on-site twice during my stay. I didn't know if they were supposed to be on-site or if they were stealing something. Personal items were left in the yard. We left, at first, as we thought we had the wrong address. I received a credit for my early departure which I wasn't expecting

Turkey Knoll House was a great base for spending a week exploring the Black Hills and surrounding areas. The house was spacious, comfortable and in a peaceful and scenic rural setting. The hot tub in particular was a nice amenity. The laundry room washer was initially not working, but it was fixed during our stay. We saw deer, horses and wild turkeys in the vicinity. Overall we had a very enjoyable time in an attractive property.

The best place I’ve ever stayed!! Beautiful home and surroundings. The master bedroom shower was heaven. And the robe and slippers were a nice touch! It absolutely felt like home and a great place to stay with kids!
