Comfortable rooms & the use of the kitchen. The house is shared mostly with long-term housemates (sensible & considerate professionals). We live elsewhere but are on 24-hour call. It's on the east side of town with private parking and a glorious garden to enjoy the sunshine. Games rooms & some gym equipment in a separate building allow fun without disturbing the others (table football, pool, small air hockey, darts). All rooms have wash hand basin. Fast wifi. Great discounts for extended stays. The property is comfortable, well-maintained and welcoming. Guests have their own food cupboard and a shelf in the freezer and fridge. They have the use of all the kitchen facilities and the washing machine and dryer in the utility room. There is a table in the kitchen and another in the sitting room. All rooms have TV aerial points. There is a TV in the sitting room. Wifi is fast and free. The house is on the east side of town. The bedroom available from early May has a lovely big window looking south, over the annex towards fields and it's a fantastic light room. The garden has a patio and a nice elevated place to sit out on the lawn. There is a secret and private lawned area behind the garage, with a washing line. The secure wooden shed can be used for bicycles, canoes etc. The games rooms, and the room with some gym equipment, are in a separate building across the yard. There is a full bathroom with shower above the bath and a toilet and basin, also a shower cubicle in the utility room and a separate toilet with basin. All rooms have wash hand basins for cleaning teeth and shaving, some people work shifts and 2 of the rooms have ensuites, so there are very few queues. Please note that the house is not always immaculate as there are other housemates but they are certainly much better than most! The bedrooms are very clean. We have a weekly cleaner for the shared areas. We do respectfully request that guests are reasonably quiet and that they clean up after themselves in the shared rooms. It's about 20-30 minutes walk to the town centre/railway station, or 7 minutes by bus/taxi (bus stop close by) and 5 minutes walk to a supermarket. There's private off-road parking in the yard. Dumfriesshire has stunning countryside, still undiscovered by mass tourism, with hills, lochs, woodland and beautiful coastline. We have a great range of willdlife, many castles to visit and plenty of outdoor activities. The house has an HMO licence so is safe and has appropriate insurance. If you plan to stay in Dumfries for the long-term, initially renting this room short term via Airbnb is a great way to find out if you feel happy here and to meet the tenants with no commitment to stay long-term. The house is in Dumfries, on the east side of town. Dumfriesshire has friendly locals and spectacular countryside, still undiscovered by mass tourism. We have hills, lochs, river, woodland and the Solway coastline with sandy beaches, rugged cliffs and rock-pools aplenty. Our wildlife includes roe deer, otters, red squirrels, hedgehogs. It's a great place for bird-watchers and for outdoor sports - with the 7-stanes mountain bike trails nearby, Loch Ken Activity Centre, fishing and hill-climbing.
The house has private parking in the courtyard. It's 5 minutes drive from Dumfries town centre and railway station ( 8 mins on the bus - bus stop is close to the house, 20 mins walk). An Aldi supermarket is 5 minutes walk away.
It's a short drive to the A75 Dumfries bipass.
