Our neighborhood is friendly and walkable, with most neighbors knowing each other and looking out for one another.
There is street parking on both sides in front of the property and we are located perfectly as downtown Troy, Watervliet, Latham and Albany are all nearby. Saratoga is about 30
minutes north and Schenectady is 20 minutes west. With this location, guests that stay with us can easily access all of the major employers in the area, as well as colleges and universities, nature and hiking trails, fishing and local entertainment at performance venues such as SPAC, EMPAC at RPI, The Palace Theater, Proctors Theater, Cohoes Music Hall to name just a few.
All good delivery options such as Door Dash and Uber Eats service the area. Transportation is easy with Uber, Lyft, local cab companies, and public (bus) transportation. The Amtrak station in Rensselaer is the closest train station, and Albany International Airport is also within a short drive.
Nearby guests will find convenient stores and larger grocery store options, as well as local farmers markets.

It was automobile manufacturing, and not the railroads, that would soon become important to Green Island when Thomas Edison; whose General Electric was located in nearby Schenectady and who frequently fished off the northern end of Green Island; introduced his friend, Henry Ford, to the village.[14] In 1919 Ford, Edison, John Burroughs, Harvey Firestone, Harvey Firestone, Jr., and the manager of Ford's Upper Peninsula of Michigan operations camped and fished on land in Green Island,[15] that would, in 1922, become The Ford Motor Company's plant manufacturing radiators and springs.[14] At one point the plant employed close to 1,000.[16] The location was convenient because of the Federal Dam which was used to provide hydroelectric power to operate the plant.
