Glendale · 整套小木屋 · 0室1床1.0卫 · 可住2人 · Blue Skye Studio Pod
Located on a six-acre croft in the village of Glendale in north-west Skye, Moonrise Studio Pod is a stylish and hand-crafted mini abode, perfect for a relaxing retreat for two (and up to two canine chums) with views up the glen to the MacLeod’s Tables. With a decking and firepit area, it's ideal for lazy evenings and barbeques. Enjoy our tranquil surroundings, fantastic sunsets and dark starry nights! Inside, the pod has floor-to-ceiling windows – all the better to admire views up the glen to the flat-topped MacLeod’s Table – along with characterful oak-pegged beams and waney-edge shelving. A small double bed, a comfy sofa and a dining table are provided too, plus an electric fire to keep everyone warm. Things to make your life easy include USB charging points for devices and storage space for your kit (take plenty of layers to combat the unpredictable Skye weather). The kitchenette and bathroom are equipped with everything you need; just be aware the shower is a tad on the small side due the constraints of the building. French doors lead onto the decking for lazing around on summer evenings as the sun sets, or cuddling up around the firepit for alfresco barbecue suppers. There’s little light pollution, so if the sky is clear after dark, climb into the hammock and gaze up at the stars – you might get lucky and spot the Northern Lights flashing colours across the sky. NB. The EV Charger mentioned on the listing is a UK 3 pin plug charger. You may require an adaptor to use this. It is located behind the pods in a separate area and is a shared amenity between both pods, therefore please contact the host prior to your arrival should you wish to use this. ** Firewood for the outdoor firepit area is available to purchase for £5 per bag paid in cash when you are staying with us. Please note this is not for internal use! Thank you **
This accommodation was absolutely amazing. We travelled to Scotland for a special occasion and Jacqueline made us feel welcome from our first exchange. The space has everything you need to enjoy the beautiful nature surrounding it. I would highly recommend staying here, you won’t be disappointed.
Great location to visit the west of skye, the most beautiful part of the isles. Love this little gem with lots of windows to enjoy the nature inside the pod. It’s spotless and well equipped. A few amenities are editor’s choice ~ The electric hanging rack and the rotating sofa are great too. Bed is comfortable. The only thing is the “moonrise studio pod” gave you more privacy in terms of the location. I would suggest to swap the parking location of this two pods that your car will be right outside the full windows of the “blue sky pod” instead that would be better.
Aanrader!
There’s a small shop in Glendale about 5 mins away (open 11am to 6pm, closed Sundays), plus Cafe Lephin in the same area (open approx. 11am to 4pm, closed Saturdays but check their page online as hours and days may vary).
Dunvegan is approximately 20 minutes by car where there are further amenities/restaurants available.
It is recommended to buy any essentials in either Broadford or Portree prior to making your way to the pod in case your arrival is after the local shop is closed.
Most people head to Skye for the dramatic scenery, and it’s easy to see why. Ditch the car and take a gentle amble down the road to Loch Pooltiel (20 minutes’ walk), where you can go wild swimming or chill on the shingle beach while keeping a look out for seals and otters.
It’s back in the car to reach Talisker Bay Beach (an hour’s drive) and catch a few surfing waves (if conditions are right) or admire the jagged cliffs. Neist Point Lighthouse (15 minutes) is an excellent spot for sea fishing, whale-watching and the outside chance to spot white-tailed eagles, among the UK’s largest, rarest raptors.
To learn about Skye history, head for Dunvegan Castle and Gardens (25 minutes), where exhibitions will take you into the realms of Clan MacLeod heritage. The Skye Museum of Island Life (an hour and 15 minutes) gives an insight into traditional croft farming, and you can make a day of it by stopping off at the rugged, multi-peaked Old Man of Storr (an hour and five minutes) on the way back to Glendale.
