Unplugged, our forest house has a cozy, comfortable and unique ambiance. A cozy reading loft with a take one leave one book case. A cribbage board, cards and dice. Ultimate space for artists, writers, musicians and those seeking glamorous solitude and forest healing. Guest should be experienced and comfortable with forest surroundings. No children. There is no wifi in the forest. Our unique little house is filled with artisan love and conversation pieces. An open concept space with brightness of windows everywhere you look. A perfectly peaceful opening with a feel of being hugged by the forest. A hot shower in the house, a cold fresh rain water shower outside, and a boardwalk to the outside privy. An ice box that will keep cold for 48 to 56 hours.

Welcome to our beautiful Lanark Highlands. A two minute drive to the Historic McDonalds Corners store that offers local art, a bakery and groceries. a must visit.
Beautiful Heritage Perth is a 20 minute drive away. Known for its historic buildings, unique artisan stores, fantastic eats and scenic parks, Perth is bound to satisfy. An easy full day event.
Fresh water lakes, country dirt roads, and walking country trails such as Purdon Coservation, known for its orchids in spring. Baird Trail is a .8 km circular route. Gunn Creek Trail and Blueberry Mountain Trail.
Our property is at the end of an unmaintained dirt road that ventures for miles into the forest. An absolutely great adventure on foot, bike or atv.
Wheelers Sugar Camp, pancake house and museum is just around the corner, minutes away.
Paul’s Creek grill offers good food and cold beer, a meat 7 minute drive.
Visit Artisan cheese store, a unique family business, located on Gully road, 15 minute drive.
Blue Heron golf course is a 10 minute drive.
Direct access to the snowmobile, atv, and cycling trail network.
The snowmobile trail is less than 3 km away.
We have so much to offer within a 30 minute perimeter, Lanark Highlands is a MUST visit.
Best of all is our beautiful Barbers Lake. Right here. Take the canoe and paddle yourself into serenity. A tiny lake with no speedboats, and little population. A nature lovers dream.

Hi! My husband, son and myself have lived on Barbers Lake in Lanark Highlands for 25 years. We have 29 acres of lovely forest. I am a retired carpenter of 30 years. My dream has been to build a small off grid house on a private part of our land. I am excited to share our beautiful “unplugged” space with you! This is a very new type of business for me and I'm excited about being a great host!
