Honey & Ritual is a small, boutique bed and breakfast style accommodation that offers 2 rooms lovingly designed and decorated. The rooms are ideal for either a couple travelling the road together, or for someone in search for a path of their very own. Aptly named for it’s refreshing blue colour palette, Mar Oculto (Hidden Sea) is a cozy and romantic room with a double bed and is ready to provide an excellent nights’ rest for those interested in spending long days by the actual sea! The building was built about 40 years ago by the owners themselves so it is a quirky space with lots of character! The place used to be a kindergarten before I moved in and there are still some refurbishing to be done, but in general, it's a comfortable place to be. There are 2 floors at Honey & Ritual. Downstairs is the guesthouse with 2 rooms (Honey Suite and Mar Oculto) and a shared bathroom and kitchen that, as you can see from the photos, are outside. Umbrellas are provided during rainy season for the quick dash to the toilets! My partner and I live upstairs in a separate apartment, but I'm only shout away if you have any questions! Please keep in mind that we don’t have hot water, which is normally fine as the weather is so hot but depending on the season it is known to cool down at nights and in the morning a cold shower can feel a little “invigorating”. There is no air conditioning in the rooms. Just overhead ceiling fans. The rooms stay reasonably cool but in April or May it can be quite hot at night. I have a dog Tai who likes to bark when you arrive and then lick you. And a cat, Sacheen Little Feather, she’s somewhat of a sprite so if you see her, you’re a lucky one! It's been a lot of work and time to get to where we are and your stay helps to continue to make improvements to the place - so you are inextricably linked to the history of Honey and Ritual. And for that I am very grateful.

We felt at home immediately in Sarah’s place. The outdoor kitchen space was a really welcome and peaceful haven to hang out and we ended up making our own breakfasts and a couple of meals it was such a pleasure to potter around there. Two beautiful beaches are within easy walking distance and a most fabulous market and shops just around the corner. The only downside was arriving off the ADO bus and being hustled for the first time for an overpriced taxi fare for what was a five minute drive. There was definitely a little bit of tension between tourist and local, but as with everywhere we found most people extremely open, helpful and friendly.
Sarah was just a fantastic host and every detail was covered satisfactorily. The location is very close to everything and you can get everywhere by walking few minutes. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that visits Puerto Escondido by themselves.
El alojamiento coincide con las fotos, es muy hogareño y tiene detalles muy lindos. Sarah estuvo siempre al pendiente y en comunicación. Las áreas comunes estaban limpias y la cocina muy bien equipada. Sarah es muy atenta y muy linda. Sin duda volvería!
Sarah fue muy amable en todo momento, llegamos un poco antes y sin problema nos dejó instalarnos, así como irnos un poco más tarde por la hora del vuelo, la locación está bastante cerca del aeropuerto y de playas como: manzanillo, Bacocho,coral, Zicatela, y está cerca y fácil tomar colectivos a donde quieras ir, el lugar es acogedor y tranquilo y sus perritos muy amigables, me volvería a hospedar con Sarah!
Si tienes la oportunidad de quedarte con Sarah, ¡hazlo! 🤩 Desde el primer momento te sientes como en casa, es un lugar muy bonito y tranquilo, una decoración bellísima. Sarah es de lo más encantadora, súper amable y atenta. Sus perros me robaron el corazón, gonna miss them 🫶🏻 La ubicación es muy céntrica, te queda muy cerca todo. A pesar de no contar con aire acondicionado, el ventilador es más que suficiente, no pasamos nada de calor. La cocina es de muchísima utilidad, todo muy limpio y ordenado. Pasamos un excelente fin de semana, sin duda volveremos. 10000/10.

La casa es ubicado en el centro de Puerto Escondido. Esta approximadamente un camino de 25 minutos de las playas Manzanilla, Puerto Angelito y Carrilazillo. Transportación a las otras playas de Puerto estan muy acesible. Como tambien los camiones a Mazunte, Oaxaca o la cuidad de México. Esta muy cerca del mercardo Benito Juarez y hay una tienda de verduras en la esquina. La zona no es muy turística, pero es muy authenticamente Puerto! La propiadad es una oasis refrescante de las calles calientes del pueblito y es resplandeciente con un arbol de mango que tiene 30 años!
Rinconada es la zona turistica más cercana y tiene barres, restaurantes y tiendas organicas. Es un camino de 20 minutos de la casa. Transporto público como colectivos, taxis y camiones son muy acesible de la casa tambien y puedes llegar a las zonas de Zicatela o La Punta sin problema. También, tenemos una o dos bicis que puedes usar si eres valiente!
