Mojácar · 整套民居 · 2室0床2.0卫 · 可住4人 · Casa Jaid - our home in the sun
If you like to be close to the beach, enjoy views of the sea and the mountains and love the sunshine and relaxed Spanish way of life then look no further than Mojacar and 'Casa Jaid'! Mojacar was recently voted as the prettiest village in Spain and Izusa is known as one of the most attractive private residences. Whether you stay on the beach front with its long beach front promenade or head up to the historic village there's so much to do in Mojacar and surrounding fishing villages. The sun roof terrace is a favourite feature of Casa Jaid, with panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea and the Cabrera Mountains. This spot catches the sun all day and allows for many hours of sun worshipping or watching amazing sunsets with a sundowner in hand. We recently fully renovated our home in the sun to a very high standard. The upgrade has been done very tastefully and with good internet, a smart tv and sound system the house is perfect for entertaining, relaxing and recharging your batteries! The bathroom and separate shower room have been beautifully dsigned and offer convenience for a family or a 'his and hers' bathroom for a couple visiting. The garden with a built in BBQ, the garden cellar and the open air dining terrace add to the features of our home.
We had a wonderful stay at Casa Jaid in Mojacar. The apartment has everything you need - we loved the terrace overlooking the pool and the air con! The shared pool is lovely and never got too busy even in August. Our kids enjoyed making friends with the Spanish kids round the pool. The beach is less than 10 mins walk away and the seafront has many great beach clubs and restaurants - we loved the paella at Aku Aku, the seafood at El Anzuelo and North African cuisine at La Calima in the old village. The old town itself is very pretty and lovely to wander around in the evening with some nice boutiques and great restaurants. The nearest decent sized supermarket is a 20 minute walk and we perhaps should have hired a car but managed it using local taxis. Dorothy is a great host, very responsive and even said we could stay on a few days if needed (we were here when the air traffic control issues arose). Great holiday!
Beautiful home from home, lots of to-do locally and all fairly walkable. You can bus to the pueblo in 10 mins which is such a beautiful place. Dorothy & Ian are superb hosts, very helpful and quick responses. We found the house numbering a little difficult to find, but apart from that what a superb place and lovely low rise Spanish town
Mojacar has been known over the years as the 'Corner of Enchantment' and is in the area of Spain that is fortunate enough to receive the most hours of sunshine in Europe. High rise buildings have never been permitted in Mojacar so it remains low rise and very typically Spanish.
Mojacar comprises of Mojacar Playa with its long beachfront dotted with chiringuitos, cafes, shops and more upmarket cocktail bars and clubs. Casa Jaid is about 7 minutes walk from the beach but is a peaceful retreat from the buzz of the Paseo Mediterraneo.
The ancient village of Mojacar Pueblo is quite magical and you feel like you have gone back in time when walking the white washed cubic buildings superimposed on the hillside. The village exists because of a natural spring 'fuente' which is the focal point of the community. You can walk uphill to the village or take a bus which is much easier!
We usually hire a car so that we can explore old haunts ( like Agua Amarga)or discover new areas further afield during our holidays. It certainly isnt necessary but if you do you can park in our deginated private car port or on the street outside Izusa.
The public transport consists of buses that drive along the beachfront and up to Mojacar Pueblo every half an hour. There are also buses to the local fishing village of Garrucha and neighbouring Turre and Vera. The local markets are well worth a visit and wonderful fruit, vegetables and local produce can be purchased cheaply there.

My husband and I are delighted to be back living in Edinburgh after being overseas for most of our working lives. We have a daughter who lives in Singapore with her husband and family, and we hope to spend more time with them in the near future. Our son and his wife live and work in Edinburgh and they are both architects so are a good source of information about the historic buildings in Edinburgh. Iain and I love cooking, theatre, live music, exploring new places/cultures and just spending time with friends and family!
