Fernwood offers families and couples a perfect base to explore the beautiful Kent countryside with its many picturesque villages and stunning coastline. Located on the edge of a private bluebell wood, this peaceful sanctuary offers woodland walks straight from your doorstep, accompanied by peace and quiet. Lovingly converted, this charming barn offers open-plan living all on one floor. Tastefully furnished throughout, classic country meets rural lifestyle. Full height windows showcase the beautiful surroundings, allowing natural light to flood into each room. The vaulted ceilings with exposed wooden beams blend seamlessly with all the modern 21st century fittings. The spacious entrance hall is central to the barn, with its boot rack, coat hooks and stone tiled floor, it is ideal for storing your walking gear after a trip into the bluebell woods. The open-plan living area is dominated by the huge floor to ceiling windows and doors leading you out onto the private terrace. Two sumptuous armchairs and the sofa allow you to cosy up and watch television. Walking through into the well-equipped modern kitchen and dining area, where you have all you need to create and enjoy a wonderful family meal at the solid wood dining table. There are two well-appointed bedrooms; the first bedroom with a 5' king size bed, and the family bathroom next door with a bath and separate walk-in shower. Bedroom two leading from the living area boasts a 6' super-king size bed and Smart television. Outside the rear terrace is decked, and boasts an outdoor dining table, garden furniture and a charcoal barbecue, ideal for alfresco dining, or where you can sit back and relax whilst listening to the birdsong. Additional Information: The internal accommodation is all on one level. There are a couple of small steps into the property which the owner can provide a wheelchair ramp for. Please request this during the booking process if required. Two well-behaved dogs welcome (additional charge per dog). Children and infants welcome. Travel cot and highchair available on request (please provide your own cot linen). A charcoal barbecue is provided. Guests have use of the five acre private woodland and two acre paddock. Please note, care needs to be taken when adventuring out to the woods. If you are leaving the footpath, there may be fox and rabbit holes, and other various trip hazards. There is a pond within the paddock that is not covered. Please supervise children at all times. Please be mindful of toxic plants within the wooded area. Please supervise children and dogs at all times. The bedding is feather and non-feather (bamboo).

Fernwood is amongst several gardens and attractions. Hole Park Gardens is 5 minutes away and open throughout spring and summer, and is one of the special attractions which make up the Seven Wonders of the Weald.
Chapel Down Vineyard is 14 minutes away, where you can enjoy a guided tour of the vineyards and winery and learn about the English grape harvest.
Tenterden is the nearest town, and stands on the edge of the remnant forest the Weald. Take a trip on the Kent and East Sussex Steam Railway, taking you from Tenterden to Northian, and then Bodian Castle in a beautifully restored Victorian coaches and locomotives.
Camber Sands is half an hour away, with miles of golden sand and dunes. You can take part in a kitesurfing tuition alongside windsurfing and sailing.
Rye Harbour Nature Reserve is also half an hour away, and is great for bird watchers and photographers. With an easy access path through the salt marshes, meadows and wetlands to the sea and a cafe to relax and enjoy the surrounding views.
Winchelsea Beach is a large shingle beach, and much quieter than the others, and you can see Camber Sands and even walk to Rye Harbour Nature Reserve. Whilst visiting, Winchelsea Church is worth a visit, along with the ruins of the abbey.
Great Dixter is a historic house and garden, and a center of education. It makes the perfect place for a family day out.
Sissinghurst Castle features a beautiful garden, and the tower home to Vita's writing room with panoramic views of the formal garden. You can enjoy shopping at the plant shop, and take home a living piece of Sissinghurst, or browse through the second-hand bookshop and explore a wide range of donated books.
