On arrival to our Luxury Retreat, guests will drive up a long driveway to enter our five+ acre estate atop "the Mesa." Our luxurious home will be at the end of the driveway, where there is ample space for parking multiple cars. Guests enter through the private courtyard gate to reach our welcoming and oversized front door. The fenced in courtyard is fully available to our guests, including the sandy playground my daughter's painted as "Opa's Beach." Sit at the outdoor table, grill your meal and enjoy the breathtaking view of our freshwater lakes, sand dunes and ocean. *A personalized door code will be sent prior to arrival, ensuring a seamless and secure entry experience.* LIVING ROOM: When guests enter our front door, they are welcomed into a lofted and warm space highlighted by a artfully designed stone fireplace (gas-lighted with remote control on top of the special cypress wood mantle) on one side and a fully stocked walnut bar on the other side. The soft leather couch is perfect for cuddling in front of the fire, or is large enough to be used for one person to sleep. The cabinet under the ocean-view window stores a vast assortment of games to be played by the guests. The living room is completed by our family stand-up piano, accompanied with many piano songbooks for reference. The living room adjoins our formal dining room, which includes a large live-edge walnut table with seating for eight. A baking/coffee cabinet is in the dining room, next to the glass doors which access our back porch that enjoys views over the farmlands, natural lakes, Oceano Dunes and Pacific Ocean. The dining room opens into our "great room" which includes our custom chef-designed kitchen with state of the art oven, dishwasher, oversized refrigerator, walk-in pantry and numerous handy appliances (including a panini maker, microwave oven and Ninja Air Fryer). Guests will love the oversized quartz-topped island which also has seating for guests to use while conversing with the those who are making their meals. The other side of the kitchen is completed with a comfortable banquette that can seat up to 12 and is centered with a glorious redwood table handcrafted by one of Arroyo Grande's master woodworkers. The open-style "great-room" leads into a game room with a pool table (readily convertible into a ping pong table), guest bathroom with beautiful copper penny floor and walk-in shower, and our television viewing area which enjoys a 65" wide screen on one side and LaCantina doors that open into the courtyard playground and grilling area. Also hidden away under the stairway is the entrance to our multi-functional laundry room that includes a hideaway miniature playroom/kitchen for our very little guests. PRIMARY BEDROOM: Off the living room, step into the luxurious primary bedroom with 20 foot high natural wood ceilings, providing a serene sanctuary offering incomparable panoramic views of natural lakes, sand dunes and the Pacific Ocean. The primary bedroom has two glass doors that lead into a private porch area with a love seat for two (as well as a cycle machine if guests wish to workout while enjoying the gorgeous view). There is a king size bed (Casper mattress!) bookended by Venetian glass sconces and eclectic artwork from all over the world. Next to the bedroom is a luxurious master bathroom that is surrounded in natural stones and quartz waterfall countertops, a walk-in shower, whirlpool bathtub, and a private toilet room separated by an inset-door. SECONDARY MAIN-FLOOR BEDROOM: Beyond the staircase and separated by an extra room that includes an additional refrigerator and our tankless water heating and purifying system, lies a large bedroom with floor to ceiling closets, a comfy rocking chair as well as a portable desk/working area. TWO UPSTAIRS BEDROOMS: Enjoy a restful night's sleep in either of our lovingly decorated upstairs bedrooms that are separated by an upstairs library that includes hundreds of books, a balcony overlooking the courtyard, and a sofa that folds out to a bed for two. One room sports a Casper queen size bed and one room sports a Casper king size bed. Both include their own ensuites that enjoy a bathtub, shower, make-up area and separated toilet room. OUTDOOR SPACE: Our expansive outdoor spaces are designed both for relaxation and playful enjoyment. The large front courtyard is fenced on all sides and contains a sandy "Opa's Beach" with a large swing set that is next to an extensive grassy area and then a slated eating area which includes a new grill (gas powered off the home and not propane), table and chairs. The "backyard" is a grassy area that surrounds the large covered porch that wraps around the back of our home -- all of it enjoying a 200 degree view of the local farms, sand dunes, natural lakes and Pacific Ocean -- and includes two tables, four chairs and two rocking chairs. Our sideyard includes a special shuffleboard installment that also doubles for our cornhole play area. We supply croquet and badminton equipment among several other play activities. And if you just seek to relax, we have a comfortable hammock in our sideyard that also takes advantage of the view. LOCATION AND DISTANCES; The property is conveniently located within a short drive of a diverse range of top-notch amenities, including an array of exceptional wineries, coffee shops and restaurants, ensuring an enjoyable and flavorful experience for all tastes and preferences. "Towns/Cities" 1. Village of Arroyo Grande lies only four miles away and it is an historical town of great restaurants, vintage shops, hair salons, ice cream parlors and our famous Arroyo Grande roosters. 2. Oceano is just two miles away and while it does contain a small airport, one of the better Mexican restaurants (Old Juan's), and the renowned Great American Melodrama and Vaudeville Theater, it is primarily famous for providing the gateway to the Oceano Dunes where one can pay a nominal fee to drive right on the beach, rent ATVs or Dune Buggies, for a rousing fun time. 3. Grover Beach is four miles away and contains a very long main road (Grand Ave.) that runs from the 101 Freeway all the way to the sand of the Pacific Ocean. Grover Beach has many, many good coffee shops and shopping areas, as well as two of the finest restaurants of our immediate area: Embers and Spoon Trade. 4. Pismo Beach is just five miles away and is a bustling beach resort city with all sorts of great restaurants and live music venues, as well as the famous Pismo Pier (and yes, don't forget to try the phenomenal clam chowder at Splash)! 5. Shell Beach is eleven miles away and provides a wonderful seaside community famous for its hiking trails and bird-views, as well as excellent restaurants. 6. San Luis Obispo is a twenty minute drive from the property and is a wonderfully diverse and beautiful college town and bustling shopping district, famous for its Thursday night Farmers Market. "Notable Places to Visit" 1. Hearst Castle is 62 miles away and your beautiful drive up includes wonderful stopping places such as Morro Bay and Cambria. 2. Lopez Lake is just a fifteen minute drive from the property and includes all the fun lake amenities such as boating, fishing, camping, slides, and numerous recreational activities. 3. Wineries: Peacock and See Canyon Wineries are two of the nearest wineries and provide great wines as well as wonderfully different ambiances. Of course, we are also within just minutes from some of the finest wineries on the Central Coast: Tolosa, Talley, Edna Valley, Chamisal, etc. 4. Paso Robles is just a 45 minute drive and it boasts world-class wineries as well as many shopping districts, an old-town-square, and a vast array of great restaurants.
