There was immediate smell when entering. Like a place that hasn’t seen people for a while. Contacted host and they bought air freshener to spray. We tried airing the place as well as running water into pipes but smell stayed. Felt unsafe to breathe with 3 young kids. Probably mold. Expensive for what you get.

Hideaki and Yin were very proactive in giving information and asking if we needed anything. They responded quickly to any queries with helpful answers. The space was compact but comfortable with a lovely shower and toilet.

Doesn't deserve 4+ rating. Host was helpful by message but no in-person assistance. We communicated problems detailed below. They said they were busy or passed along to an unresponsive property owner. We purchased missing items ourselves. Hosts: Yin was our contact while Hideaki sent automated messages. Yin responded quickly to messages. Appreciated her help with Tokyo transportation. The Place: Good space for 3 adults & 1 child. Toilet smelly. Could smell in living room with door closed. The shower was clogged and a big puddle formed (almost flooded). Nowhere to throw away garbage bags. Lacked supplies like paper towels, dish gloves & enough trash cans. Hand soap bottle broken. HVAC instructions inaccurate. Cleanliness: Dishes & mirrors were dirty. Closets, fixtures, and under bed dusty. Old place with stains on the sinks and toilet. Location: Quiet, safe, restaurants/convenience stores, taxi a block away, easy walk to well-connected train station (with grocery store & eateries)

The location was good and the space is good for Tokyo but that is all that is good about this place, and it’s definitely not a place to sleep 9. We were thoroughly disgusted by how dirty and misrepresented and run down this unit was- broken furniture, uncomfortable beds, and all of the unit felt like someone just found random stuff off the street and put it in the room, not even a proper set of dishes or utensils in the unit. The photos are very misleading. The only amenity was the sheets, towels, shower goods and the very last drops of dish soap. It’s upsetting we are made to pay a $120 cleaning fee yet we were made to empty a full vacuum canister before we could clean, the filters in the AC and air filter probably haven’t been cleaned in years, and the worst was having to sit in a puddle while showering every time since the shower drain was clogged and there was no plunger in the unit. A Japanese experience should be clean and welcoming- this was the opposite. I DoNot recommend!
