Experience Amsterdam's green and tranquil Plantage District at the city center! Our 2-bedroom, 2-small bathroom (shower+sink) apartment, covers the entire lower level of a 19th-century townhouse, offering an ideal retreat for 4 guests. With spacious living areas and a fresh, luxurious design, your stay will be unforgettable. Enjoy our charming neighborhood, just a short walk from the city's top attractions. Please note, this is a non-smoking apartment, ensuring a pristine, welcoming environment. Our apartment is located on the ground floor (souterrain) of our house, with easy access through your own entrance just 2 steps below street level. The spacious living area is perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring, with large south-facing folding doors that open up to our private garden (not included as part of the apartment). Enjoy the fresh air while lounging on the comfortable seating area, which also features a 70” TV screen and hifi Bluetooth Soundsystem. Need to work, study or have a business meeting? Use the nice table with six design chairs in a quiet atmosphere. The apartment has two small bedrooms that can accommodate up to four guests. Both bedrooms have a closet to hang your clothes, and you can choose between four single beds (80x200 or 90x200), two double beds (160x200 and 180x200), or a combination of two singles and one double bed (two 80x200 and one 180x200). Let us know your preferred bedroom setup, and we'll have it ready for your arrival. Both bedrooms come with a small, stylish bathroom featuring a shower and a sink with a heated mirror and a hairdryer. Please note that the apartment has one separate toilet. The individual small bathrooms don't accommodate a toilet. The modern design and attention to detail will make you feel pampered and relaxed during your stay. While the apartment doesn't have full cooking facilities, we've provided a microwave oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, boiling water tap, Nespresso coffee machine, and toaster for your convenience. You'll find plenty of local bakeries and grocery stores nearby where you can find delicious breakfast options. As locals, we know all the best bars and restaurants in the area, and we're happy to provide you with tips and recommendations. Whether you're looking for a cozy café for a morning cup of coffee or a trendy restaurant for a night out, we've got you covered. Please note that smoking is strictly prohibited within the apartment and garden premises, but a typical Amsterdam-green bench across the street is available for smokers. Upon request, you may use our washer, dryer, and steam iron, located in our private area, but we must be home to grant access. Therefore, please inform us in advance if you wish to utilize these amenities.

This is a wonderful place in a quiet, but very central neighborhood. Our family enjoyed walking and the super easy access to the tram just outside. Stefaan was a great host!
Amazing place. Great stay and a great option for our next visit
So happy to have found this place. It’s in a perfect neighborhood right next to the tram to take you anywhere in Amsterdam. A lot of restaurants and cafes. They gave great instructions on how to get into the building and how to leave the place. They supplied free coffee and Stroop waffles which was so generous. Everything was so clean and nice. We felt right at home and couldn’t have asked for a better place.
Stefaan's place was aesthetically beautiful. But I think the photos of this place are very misleading. If you don't read the details carefully, you may be disappointed. It is mentioned that there are 2,5 bathrooms in the place, however, there is a small toilet and 2 useless bathrooms without water closet. You will see a wonderful garden in the photos, but you are not allowed to use it. The entrance time is written as 15:00, but you are not allowed to enter at this time. It says there is an iron, but there actually isn't. You have to request it and wait for someone to bring it. Also, on the last day, we were not even allowed to leave our luggage in the storage room at the entrance just for a few hours. In short, this place disappointed us and did not offer a comfortable holiday for the money we paid.

The Plantage district is a charming and vibrant neighborhood filled with green spaces and historic buildings. Take a stroll through Artis Zoo, visit the beautiful Hortus Botanicus (botanical garden), or enjoy a relaxing picnic at the Oosterpark. Visit our typical flea market at the nearby Waterlooplein. Or, for a taste of local life, sample the delicious street food at the weekly Dappermarkt and drink our local Brouwerij 't Ij beers under the iconic De Gooyer windmill. Take a short tram ride to the vibrant De Pijp neighborhood with the great Albert Cuypmarkt, or hop on a bike and explore the famous canals and museums of the city center. Visit the world-renowned Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, and Anne Frank House, all located within 3 kilometers. Shop the local boutiques in the Utrechtsestraat, P.C. Hooftstraat or 9-straatjes.
Maybe, at night, you can see a ballet or an opera at the Opera House in our street. Or a attend a classical concert in the famous Concertgebouw. For pop-rock-house concerts, we go to Paradiso or De Melkweg at the Leidseplein. Our favorite, though, are the jazz concerts at the nearby Bimhuis....
We have a direct metro connection to The Johan Cruyff Arena, home of A.F.C. Ajax. There, you will also find the large concert halls Ziggo Dome and AFAS Live.
With excellent public transport links and a prime location, you'll have everything you need to make the most of your time in our favorite city, Amsterdam!
If you fly in through Schiphol airport:
A TAXI from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport to city centre will charge you a flat fee of 39€ (August 2022). Depending on trafic 20-30 minutes. Online reservations can cost up to 55€. However, extra charges may apply, usually from luggage, late-night driving, and traveling on public holidays.
TRAIN: NS (Dutch Railways) train from Schiphol Airport to Amsterdam Central Station (single €5.90 including €1 surcharge for a disposable ticket, 15-20 minutes)
There are LUGAGE LOCKERS at the Amsterdam Central Station. During weekdays there is nearby lugage storage at Micropia (reserve @ Website Bounce)
From Amsterdam Central Station you can take:
- TRAM 14 to Artis (6 stops) walk 2 minutes
- METRO 51, 53 or 54 to Waterlooplein (2 stop) exit at Hortusplantsoen -Nieuwe Herengracht. Walk 6 minutes to the apartment
If you come by car:
You will find plenty of parking spaces in our street. Be ware that parking in the city center of Amsterdam is very expensive...
