The lower level of our Jewel Lake Home with a separate entry, and fun backyard. This is a recent remodel; an eclectic space with vintage wood ceilings and a blend of industrial+ modern detailing. We are 5 minute drive from the airport, and guests can enjoy Alaskan wilderness right from this space. A forested trail system lies right behind our house for walking and biking. Guests may collect eggs from our chickens, use our forest-side hot tub, stoke the firepit, or use the canoe at Sand Lake. One bedroom with cozy queen bed and TV. Comfortable sitting space looks into forested backyard. There is a vibe for everyone here. Kitchenette has cook top, coffee, dishes and pots and pans, microwave, and fridge and freezer, but no sink (only a washtub). Coffee and tea station, variety of spices for cooking, plus light snacks are available for guests, and vary. Feel free to use whatever is in there! Water purifier tap in fridge. Dining room space consists of a large table and two chairs for dining. The area is large, well-lit, and comfortable enough to be used as a workspace. Basic stationary and pens and pencils available. Bathroom recent remodel, with hand-made mexican tile and updated fixtures. Jacuzzi tub in bathroom. Laundry machines can be used if you need. Cozy library space with a nice selection of Alaskan books, coffee table books, graphic novels, and dozens of board games. Alaskan guidebooks and pamphlets are available to take. Movie room is spacious. Projector and screen can be used with your devices for movie nights, or play nostalgic VHS movies. Concession stand stocked with candies and popcorn. The couch has a surprisingly comfortable pull out queen bed. Red black-out curtains can be drawn if using the space as a second bedroom. Is a simple couch and lounge living room if the bed is not used. Common spaces have multiple seating options and little tables for switching things up. There is a map of Alaska, chalkboards for drawing, Alaskan antiques and treasures to look at, including lots of rocks and minerals. Grassy backyard next to the forest, with a hot tub, yard games, fire pit and chairs, a woodshed and chopping block, and a chicken coop. Yurt is a new build, and will be a separate rental starting April 2024 (called Forest Yurt here on AirBnb) The yard is pretty in all seasons. When it’s all covered in snow we keep paths maintained to yard.
