We loved it! Exactly as described and Mary Ellen was great to work with. The kitchen and bathroom are a great size and perfectly stocked. The bed and recliners are comfortable when you are ready to relax. You have everything you need and an amazing view to boot! The property is a great central location with lots to do in the area! We really enjoyed walking the property and relaxing on the patio, it really is a little slice of heaven! We didn’t have a chance to fish, but the ponds are stocked and you can see the fish swimming around. Salida/Poncha Springs are beautiful and we can’t wait to come back, we would absolutely stay here again!

Our stay was spectacular!! We had every intention to go fish around Salida, but the south Arkansas runs right through the property, and we fished for brown trout for hours on end. There were also two stocked ponds with huge rainbows who would put up a fun fight reeling in, but eager to bite. We ended up never leaving the property! In addition to fishing, there is disc golf, plenty of hidden benches perfect for sipping a beverage or reading a book, walking paths, and incredible views. Not to mention the actual guest house we stayed in! SO cute and cozy with the best lounger chairs and views of the mountains. We sat outside and had a little fire every morning with coffee and breakfast, soaking up the views. It was clean, stocked with essentials (and more), and perfect for cooking a full meal. We grilled up filets and roasted veggies in the oven- perfect for cooking! Also, it’s within walking distance to a winery! We will be back. Mary Ellen is a gem. 20/10!! Perfect bday weekend

What a wonderful place to escape for a weekend! The apartment was so comfortable with no small detail overlooked, from a supply of coffee to extra toothpaste in the bathroom. The reclining couch chairs were perfect to sit back and watch some TV (or you can watch in the bedroom). We only prepared breakfast, but the kitchen seemed really well stocked if you want to do more cooking. The views of Mt Shavano were amazing right from the windows. We picked the location for it's beauty and privacy, but we found that both downtown Salida and Monarch Mountain were even more accessible than we expected...just a short drive to each. At Mary Ellen's suggestion, we took a walk around the property before leaving and it was just amazing. While we love winter, I can just imagine how amazing this place is in the summer, too!

This place is a true paradise! Everything looks just like the pictures. The only issue I had is that my own schedule didn't allow me to stay longer.

Mary Ellen and John were delightful and very accommodating hosts. They really thought of everything for cooking, relaxing, outdoor exploring, and comfort. The location is an excellent springboard for any day trips you can think of, and all recommendations were solid. Highly recommend!
