Welcome to Chicory Lake House in beautiful Baileys Harbor, Door County! Our newly remodeled Kangaroo lakefront home is on a private road, just adjacent to the historic Kangaroo Lake causeway. Fish from the pier, explore on the provided kayaks and paddle boards, wake up to lake views and spend evenings cozied up to a lakeside bonfire. With all bedrooms on one level, a fireplace, a large yard, and a game room, Chicory Lake House is the perfect place to make memories for all ages and seasons. Nestled among the reeds and mature trees on Kangaroo Lake's shoreline, Chicory Lake House feels like a true escape, yet it is just minutes from everything that Door County has to offer. Walk across the road to enjoy a local favorite - Coyote Roadhouse, or take the short drive to all the towns that make Door County a world-class vacation destination. We require a signed rental agreement, waiver of liability, and a $300 credit card security deposit hold for all bookings. The name used to book the reservation must match that on the credit card and the signed rental agreement. The rental agreement and security deposit hold must be completed within 72 hours of booking (within 24 hours if arrival date is less than 3 days from time of booking) to avoid cancellation. We cannot accommodate bachelor or bachelorette parties, reunions or other rowdy gatherings.*** A word about our cleaning protocols….We have a larger family that stays in multiple vacation rentals a year. We know, firsthand, how the cleanliness of a rental can make or break your vacation. Unlike most vacation rentals, we wash/change-out all duvet covers, extra blankets, living room throw blankets, and living room throw pillow covers between every guest, in addition to all the typical bed sheets and pillowcases. Our cleaning process is extremely extensive because we know that your relaxation and enjoyment depends on it. Years ago, on our first trip to Kangaroo Lake, someone shared their home with us. This began our goal of creating an exceptional and memorable vacation home to share the magic of Kangaroo Lake with others. Enjoy the smart tv, record player and vinyl music library. The living room is comfortable and complete with a queen sized leather sleeper sofa. THE KITCHEN The beautifully designed kitchen has everything you need to make meals or enjoy a glass of wine on the lakeside deck. New appliances, dishwasher and extra barware are present. The dining table seats six with extra kitchen island seating. THE PRIMARY BEDROOM WITH ENSUITE BATH You'll love the lakeside bedroom with queen sized bed, smart tv, and ensuite bathroom. This bedroom has a patio slider allowing you to access the lakeside deck to drink your morning coffee or have an evening glass of wine. Our fully remodeled ensuite bath has dual vanities and a luxurious walk-in shower with a rainhead, classic, and handheld shower heads. THE LAKESIDE QUEEN BEDROOM Enjoy the second lakeside bedroom with a queen bed, room darkening shades, closet, and a smart tv. THE TWIN BEDROOM The adorable "twin room" has two twin beds, room darkening shades, closet, and a smart tv. THE HALL BATH The newly remodeled hall bathroom has a modern tub/shower combination. Full sized laundry machines are also found in the hall bathroom. THE GAME ROOM We thought a lakeside game room was more fun than a real garage, so that's what we did. The game room has a glass overhead door making access to and from the lake a breeze. Play bumper pool, shuffleboard, pop-a-shot, or challenge someone to a friendly game of cards. THE GREAT OUTDOORS Enjoy our provided kayaks and paddleboards, or just stay dry and play a few yard games. Fish from our pier (two poles provided) or sun on our lakeside loungers. Spend evenings making memories around our lakeside bonfire pit (two bundles of firewood and marshmallow forks provided.) Dual 12 cup drip coffee maker/Keurig, coffee bean grinder and tea kettle are also provided. Also available are pots and pans, kitchen towels, hot pads, baking sheets and BBQ utensils. Dishes, utensils, glassware, and wine glasses, and barware are also on site. Water shoes recommended. Typical of most inland Wisconsin lakes, swimmers itch occasionally occurs, but is unpredictable. We recommend vigorously toweling off or showering after swimming. Water depth: 4-5 ft at end of dock. Jumping and/or diving from pier strictly prohibited. Public, sandy swimming areas: 0.7 miles away (west shore of Kangaroo Lake on Kangaroo Beach Road) and 2.5 miles away (Anclam Swimming Beach on Lake Michigan) Kangaroo Lake Public Boat Launch is located 2.8 miles away along the east shore of Kangaroo Lake on 7563 S Kangaroo Lake Drive
