Pilot · 整套民居 · 2室3床2.0卫 · 可住5人 · Guest House on Homestead near Floyd/Blacksburg
Surrounded by large tracts of forest, our pet-friendly guest house is perfect for a country vacation or a work-from-home escape. Located on a permaculture homestead and native plant sanctuary, the house is ~10 miles from Floyd, ~20 miles from Blacksburg, and ~35 miles from Roanoke. The house has a fenced yard, fully stocked kitchen, and super-fast fiber optic wifi. There is a hiking trail along the top of the ridge. Be sure to check out our other unique Airbnb listings! The open floor plan of this house makes for an incredible gathering space. It was completely renovated several years ago, with new appliances and amenities. Two mini-split units heat and cool the space quickly and easily. The fully equipped kitchen is perfect for preparing and enjoying food. There is a propane grill on the back deck. The fenced-in outdoor lawn area offers a relaxing space to sunbathe, break bread, stargaze, and roast marshmallows. Our secluded dirt road is great for walking, but you can also explore the ~1+ mile trail along the ridge line. There are 2 bedrooms - a master bedroom with a king bed upstairs and a second bedroom with a queen bed and twin bed on the main floor. There is an office area in an upstairs nook connected to the master bedroom (the master is separated by a hallway and a door). It is possible to drive right up to the house for those with limited mobility, but only when the grass is dry and/or you drive an AWD or 4WD vehicle. Guests are welcome to use the ping pong table and dartboard in the workshop, located beneath the living space of the house.
The house was perfect. We were visiting family in the area and just needed a comfortable space for our family of 5 to sleep; it was everything we needed and more. I wish we had more time to spend there, to explore the property and sit in the "relaxation room" (as named by my 4 year old) with a book and a cup of tea. The house felt spacious and cozy all at once, and was so nice to come back to each evening after a busy day. We will definitely be back. Thank you Ezekiel and Vanessa!
Ezekiel was awesome! Super helpful and proactive with instructions and answered every question. Great place, beautiful surrounds, would def go back again.
The home was beautiful, very clean, comfortable and relaxing. It was a great place to reground and regain peace with family. The fenced in yard was perfect for my dog. The porches were wonderful to watch the sunrise and drink coffee. I wish we had more time to explore the property and maybe I'll get another chance to do that in the future. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a place to recharge. I felt the indoor and outdoors collided with all the beautiful windows giving a panoramic view of the country side. We were so lucky to be able to open the windows up and had a wonderful rain storm hitting the tin roof on our last morning there. I can not put into words how meamerizing it was and a memory I can now cherish. This was a little slice of almost heaven.
This is a great place to stay if you like being out in the country away from everything. We loved it. Worth the drive in on about 1.5 miles of gravel road. Watch out for the many deer crossing the road. Dog-friendly house with a fenced-in area. Poop bags and a dog bowl were provided, too. There are games to play (including board games, corn hole, horse shoes and ping-pong) and books to read (including children's books and books for lovers of nature) We enjoyed hiking the trail along the ridge (with a view of farmland and mountains on both sides.) The kitchen seemed well-supplied, though we weren't there long enough to do much cooking. Our hosts were great and responded promptly whenever we contacted them. Clean and neat and comfortable. Dressers and a wardrobe for keeping your clothes if you stay a while. Would definitely stay there again.
The house is tucked away on a state-maintained gravel road.
We live next door. There is one other small cottage on the property. There are no other houses nearby.
We are conveniently located between the towns of Floyd (20 minutes) and Blacksburg (35 minutes), and we are ~45 minutes from Roanoke.
The house is on a beautiful state-maintained gravel road.
