What an amazing stay!! It was exactly as pictured and was so cozy. We stayed here while we were visiting Yosemite for the weekend. It was a bit of a drive between the locations but well worth it! I was concerned with the bathroom after seeing mixed comments about the compost toilet (and I’m not the camping type) but it was a lot better than I was expecting - clean and easy to use. The bathroom was super clean and spacious. The only thing was that the water temp was a little hard to control so we kept going between hot and cold. The dome itself was also very clean and extremely cozy. The AC unit and Heater worked so well and kept us comfy day and night. The tent enclosure did a great job with keeping out mosquitoes and other critters. Overall just such an amazing and relaxing stay. Would recommend to anyone and would 100% stay again.
Beautiful stay! Lots to see! Unfortunately the forest fires took away a lot of the trees but there is still so much green growing! Fishing at the pond was alright, though I recommend bringing your own fishing rod if you’d like to fish. There was only two rods there, one of them didn’t have a reel on it and the other was snapped in half. The compost toilet was interesting to use for the first time too! But not a problem, and easy to learn. The dome stayed really warm throughout the cold night and the stars were pretty too! A fun stay, wish we could have stayed longer!
Preface: we arrived about 11pm. It’s very remote and mildly difficult to find in the dark. Was a bit of a creepy drive at night, but beautiful once the sun rose. The place was peaceful. It was nice to enjoy the stars on the patio. I wish there was some type of locking mechanism on the yurt, even if its main function is to make me “feel” better. There are 6 or 7 other yurts in the area so it would be nice to feel slightly safer amongst strangers. We were only in for the night so didn’t get to enjoy the property. The yurt was super cute and plenty warm, beds were fantastically comfortable. The bathroom was clean. But the shower… the water temperature options were icy cold or bone-melting hot. I opted for no shower all. Despite the shower, the only part great I really hated was that I left my $150 pillow in a silk pillowcase and no one even still bothered to notify me so I could pick up while still in the area. That makes me mad. Future visitors: hope y’all enjoy my favorite pillow.
The domes were absolutely beautiful. The instructions were super helpful. We would love to visit again in future.
The domes were a peaceful get away tucked away in the mountain off the quiet town of North Fork. We went up for our 6th wedding anniversary just for the night. I did mention to them that and they offered a $50 upgrade that included candles and rose pedals. Not really worth it in my opinion but to each his own. It was fake rose pedals and battery candles, which I guess is good not to cause a forest fire. The dome was actually a lot warmer than I thought it would be. It had a heater that did a decent job at night but I will say we were freezing in the morning. It was late April and low 40s that night. The pond near the domes feels relaxing and would have been welcoming to a swim if it wasn’t so cold. The bathroom situation was a little less than par. The compost toilet was not awesome. The smell was pretty bad. Our bathroom floor was soaked when we got there. And the shower never really got hot. I just gave up trying to take a shower. Wasn’t worth it. Overall I give it 6.5/10
