A distinctive new non-profit facility, Forces Manor caters to veterans, their families, and members of the British Forces. We also welcome any visitors who are not forces related. Situated 6 miles south of Aviemore in the Cairngorms National Park, Forces Manor is housed in an ancient hunting lodge that dates back more than 130 years. It is situated in a peaceful village of Kincraig set in a rural area with views of the mountains near Loch Insh. On the ground floor, Room 2 is a private standard room This single room costs £38 per person each night and has a single bed. This room is not ensuite but has a hand basin in the room. A shared shower and toilet are located next to the room and are only shared with one other room. All linen and towels are supplied. While available in the kitchen and eating area, tea and coffee are not provided in the room.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. It's a great budget option close to Inverness and other attractions. It's clean and well appointed with a TV. I had an issue with my shower but Tony was responsive and straight away told me there was another I could use, mildly inconvenient to leave my room to shower but it was a great shower. The kitchen could be better appointed for self catering guests in my opinion. It has 2 microwaves and a pizza cooking machine. This is quite limiting if you want to cook healthy meals, it could use a microwave with an oven and a grill setting really if not a hob, or at least some cookware suitable for microwave use, but I managed. The views from my room were lovely out across the mountains, the house itself is a beautiful old building, it's so clear that Tony has been hard working, inclusive and giving to the community in his approach to setting up the business as respite for veterans and vulnerable youth. Overall a really nice stay, I would highly recommend it
Brilliant place with real purpose. Love the passion that Tony had put into creating a fabulous place to stay. Really hope to visit again. Warm, comfortable, spacious and easy to find.
A typical Highland community, Kincraig has two restaurants, two bars, and two adventure facilities, one of which being a well-known waterspouts centre. The Highland Wildlife Park is also nearby. Only 150 metres away is the main local pub, the Sue, a well-liked hangout with live Scottish music.
Quite small village location within walking distance of cafe and local bar.

A NEW DEVELOPMENT. Forces Manor is a not for profit facilities that welcomes tri-services personnel, veterans and their families, and others. I was Brough up in a children's home after being abandoned aged 7 months old. I left the home and joined the army at the age of 16. Now as an army Veteran I am the owner and founder of Forces Manor. I served as a tank transporter specialist and as a member of the Ace Mobile Force. I was once 10th overall British snowboard champion and went on to establish the UK's first ever snowboard shop as The Snowboard Academy which I help to turn into the now Snowboard Asylum. I then got into publishing and wrote and published the first ever snowed guide titled 'The World Snowboard Guide'. This lead on to the European Snow Atlas in association with Collins and Land Rover. Following that I published a series of Scottish guide books that gained the backing g of the late Queen Elizabeth II Balmoral Estate. I took over the Ossian Hotel in 2009 and converted it in to Forces Manor in 2020.
