With at least 14 different species adorning the landscape of Colorado, these plants are a trademark of the American West and are quite stunning with their colorful flowering buds and unique shapes. Our historic adobe-style home in Colorado is the perfect place to experience the togetherness that defines the human experience, with cacti as our emblem to remind us of the importance of sticking together. Located just outside of Downtown Colorado Springs and close to popular area attractions, our charming home features an open concept layout, complete with a modern kitchen and a comfortable living room that is filled with natural light. The backyard is fully fenced in and offers a luxurious hot tub with mountain views, a gas grill, outdoor dining set, and lounge furniture. The stunning outdoor gas fireplace creates the perfect ambiance and extra warmth on chilly evenings. Our greenery wall, complete with a fun neon light that reads “You prickle my fancy,” is the perfect spot for taking photos to commemorate your trip. And don't forget to relax in the gas firepit area or the extra-large hammocks tucked in the shade. ✶ Paradise Found: Exploring the Dream Backyard of Cactus Casita ✶ The backyard of our Cactus Casita is a dream come true with ample space for outdoor activities. It is fully fenced to provide a safe and comfortable space for your pets or children to play. The outdoor area features a hot tub with mountain views, a gas grill, outdoor dining set, outdoor lounge furniture, and a stunning gas fireplace to create the perfect ambiance and warmth on chilly nights. For an added touch of decor, there are cacti tiki torches, and there is a greenery wall along the fence, accentuated by a fun neon light that reads "You prickle my fancy." This is a fantastic spot for taking memorable photos to document your stay. The gas firepit area has Adirondack chairs, and there are two extra-large hammocks nestled in the shade. You'll also find a variety of outdoor and yard games, including Bocce Ball, Giant Jenga, Yard Dice, Yard Farkle, and bean bags for the cornhole boards in the storage cabinet at the back of the laundry room. We keep the hot tub locked for safety and liability purposes, but we're happy to share it with you. Scan the QR code on the hot tub with your phone to access a short waiver form. After filling it out, you'll receive the code to unlock the hot tub and enjoy a relaxing soak under the stars. Cabana towels for the hot tub are provided as well. The string lights are plugged into a smart timer in the corner behind the laundry room and are set to turn on automatically at dusk and off at midnight. You can manually control them by pressing the button on the timer, but please do not leave them on overnight. You can also ask G00gle to turn them on or off by saying, "Hey G00gle, turn on/off the String Lights." The neon light with the phrase "You prickle my fancy" is also plugged into a smart timer, and you can turn it on or off manually or through G00gle Assistant using the same method as the string lights. ✶ Parking and Keyless Entry: Welcome to Cactus Casita! ✶ To the left of the home, you'll find the driveway, which can accommodate two off-street parking spots. Additionally, there is ample free street parking available, located directly in front of the home. Please note that the detached garage is not accessible to guests. Upon approaching the home, you will be greeted by a charming front porch, inviting you to relax and enjoy your stay. With two wicker chairs and a table, this is the perfect spot to relax and unwind. Take in stunning mountain views or indulge in people-watching over a cup of coffee. For your convenience, the front and back doors are equipped with a Yale keypad lock. ✶ Living It Up in the Cactus Casita Living Room ✶ In the living room, you'll find a comfortable "Burrow" sofa with a 1-person sleep kit, along with two lounge chairs, a coffee table, a side table complete with coasters, and a boom-style floor lamp situated in the corner. For your enjoyment, we've included an essential oil diffuser on the TV stand, along with several oils for you to try. You'll also find a selection of board games located on the right-hand side of the TV stand, including "Bob Ross's Happy Accidents," "Colorado-opoly," and classic games like dominoes, playing cards, Uno, Skip Bo, chess, checkers, and more! If you require spare light bulbs, you'll find them located in the left-hand side of the TV stand. The windows in the living room feature light-filtering curtains, with cordless blinds installed on the side windows for added privacy. The front picture window also has privacy film installed for your comfort. For your entertainment, there is a 48-inch TV with a Roku, which allows you to log into your personal accounts on streaming apps such as Hulu and Netflix. The Roku is set to guest mode, which will automatically log you out of all accounts on your specified check-out day. Additionally, there is an antenna that provides access to several local live TV channels, a Blu-ray/DVD player for compatible discs, and a Bose media console with a surround sound system. The media console is also compatible with Bluetooth-enabled devices, allowing you to cast your own media over the surround sound system for an enhanced viewing experience ✶ Kitchen: Cooking and Dining in Style ✶ The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to cook up a delicious meal or make a cup of coffee. You'll appreciate the textured granite counters and the large island that doubles as an eat-in dining table with ample storage. The cabinets and drawers are labeled, so you can easily find what you need. On the island, you'll find a G00gle Nest Hub Smart Display that allows you to play music, ask questions about the local area, control some features of the home, and more. For coffee and tea lovers, there is a Keurig Duo coffee maker that brews both whole pots of coffee and k-cups, a French press, a Chemex-style pour-over coffee maker, and a coffee grinder. There are also regular and electric kettles, as well as coffee filters, cream, sugar, sugar-free sweetener, and tea. Complimentary snacks are also provided in a bowl on the island. In terms of appliances, the kitchen has a full-size refrigerator with a freezer and ice cube trays, a gas range with an electric oven, a microwave, toaster, blender, waffle maker, hand-held mixer, and a Crock-Pot. You'll find a selection of beverages and Colorado beers in the fridge for guests who are 21 years and older. For cooking, there are pots, pans, bakeware, baking sheets, knives, cutting boards, hand-held cheese grater, measuring cups, measuring spoons, a mixing bowl, strainer, a mixing spoon, slotted spoon, slotted turner, ladle, spatula, tongs, a masher, peeler, whisk, potholders, kitchen towels, oven mitts, a can opener, bottle opener, wine opener, and wine stopper. Grill tools can be found in the lower cabinet to the left of the kitchen sink. When it comes to dining, you'll find plates, bowls, silverware, coffee mugs, water glasses, wine glasses, and some food storage containers. Families with children will appreciate the children's plates, bowls, cups, and silverware. Cleaning supplies such as dish soap, hand soap, cleaning spray, dishwasher pods, sponges, extra trash bags, and the recycling bin can be found under the kitchen sink. Additional cleaning items like a broom and dustpan, mop and bucket are located in the closet of the front bedroom. There is also a vacuum, iron, and ironing board in the laundry room. ✶ Bedrooms at the Cactus Casita: A desert oasis ✶ The home has two bedrooms, each with brand new and comfortable mattresses, high-quality bedding, ample pillows, and fresh linens for your ultimate comfort. Both bedrooms have their own mini-split units for heating and cooling, which can be controlled by the remote on top of each unit. You can set the temperature differently for each bedroom, but all units should be set to the same mode (either Heat or Cool) for optimal performance. The front bedroom features a king-sized bed, two nightstands with lamps, device chargers with power outlets and USB ports, and a G00gle Nest Smart Speaker. The first closet includes a dresser, a fan, and some cleaning supplies such as a broom, dustpan, mop, and bucket. The second closet has a luggage rack, plenty of hangers, a space heater, and several amenities for children. In the second closet of the front bedroom, you'll find outlet covers, changing pad, pack n’ play with linens, a stroller, baby bath, baby monitors, and a highchair for your little ones. The back bedroom features a queen-sized bed, two nightstands with lamps, a device charger with power outlets and USB ports, a dresser, and a G00gle Nest Smart Speaker. The closet has a luggage rack, plenty of hangers, a fan, and a sleep kit and linen bag for the living room sofa. ✶ Bathroom: Prickly Clean ✶ The updated bathroom in the home showcases cactus wallpaper and includes a full-sized tub and shower with a rainfall showerhead as well as a vanity with a sink with mirror. Fresh towels, hand towels, washcloths and makeup cloths are provided for your use during your stay. In addition, you can enjoy spa-quality shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, cotton swabs, cotton balls, a hair dryer, and a few extra rolls of toilet paper. ✶ Laundry Room: Clean Clothes, Happy Vacation! ✶ The laundry room off the kitchen is equipped with a washer and dryer, and we provide a few complimentary laundry pods for your convenience. Additionally, you'll find clothes pins and cactus dryer tumblers in the cabinets above the machines, as well as an iron, ironing board and a vacuum. For use with the hot tub, there are cabana towels available. You'll also find a toolbox on the bottom left shelf in the laundry room and a fire extinguisher mounted on the left wall. ✶ Kid-Approved: Family-Friendly Amenities ✶ We provide a range of children's items and amenities to make your little ones comfortable during your stay. In the front bedroom closet, you'll find a pack 'n play with linens, a stroller, highchair, baby bath, changing mat, baby monitor set, and outlet covers. Additionally, we have children's plates, bowls, cups, and silverware available in the kitchen. You'll also find a selection of board games located on the right-hand side of the TV stand, including "Bob Ross's Happy Accidents," "Colorado-opoly," and classic games like dominoes, playing cards, Uno, Skip Bo, chess, checkers, and more! You can access the trash cans from the alley or by walking through the other Airbnb's front yard.
