Homey, hidden gem within trotting distance of world-famous Churchill Downs! Centrally located with easy access to interstates, downtown, old Louisville & the Highlands. Just a short drive to the Kentucky Exposition Center and UofL’s Cardinal Stadium. Cozy, with plenty of room to move! Open floor plan with kitchen & laundry. 1950's charm in a cozy duplex that's centrally located in Louisville. Completely private apartment with front or side door access. Almost IN the parking lot of Churchill Downs! One bedroom has a queen size bed with a full size closet. The second bedroom has a full size bed with a small closet. The kitchen and living room are all one room divided by an island and Danish modern shelf partition. The kitchen is fully equipped with a refrigerator, electric stove and microwave. The 50's pink-tiled bathroom is full size (but note that the doorway is a bit narrow.) In the spacious basement there is a large capacity washer with a regular size dryer. There is a weight bench and exercise equipment available in the basement as well. It is a full size, 2 bedroom apartment with a large basement so events with small gatherings would work. I could help you with extra seating if needed, and there is plenty of parking. The kitchen island is nice if you have food set out buffet-style. (Just be mindful that only 4 sleeping guests are allowed to stay overnight, and loud parties are prohibited.) I do have cats next door but they have no access to the other side. They are not even allowed in the basement. No need to worry if you have allergies!

Perfect location if you have an event at the Kentucky EXPO, which we did. It is an older neighborhood, but is totally safe, quiet and actually pretty quaint. We had no problems with the street parking, always spots available. The apartment was very clean, nicely decorated with some creative and artsy touches and had everything we needed including great water pressure on the shower. We would stay again. Thank you Barbara!
Barbara was such a warm welcoming host! Great location, lots of bars and restaurants near by and it is also right by the derby. Barbara’s place was very clean and had a nice homey feel. Will absolutely stay again when I come back to Louisville!
What a home away from home! A perfect place for my husband, our two young (4 and 5 year old) kids and I to spend a long weekend. The kitchen has just about everything you need. The house is the perfect size to have space from each other but still know what your kids are doing in the other room. Barbara is also just so sweet! Thank you so much for sharing this space!
Barbara's place was fantastic! We stayed for 5 days and really hated to leave. Everything was clean and accommodating for us. Did get to meet her while we we're leaving to attend an event. Wished we would've had time to talk more, but she seemed very nice. The bathroom was nice and clean, but if you're a larger person you might have a difficult time with the squeeze entering it. This place is definitely on our list of staying again!
Great cozy place to stay!

Situated in a goofy little neighborhood called Lucky Horseshoe with easy access to all major attractions, venues and dining. OK, so it's not the snazziest neighborhood in town, but the location is easily accessible to anywhere you fancy in Louisville. While it is in an urban area, our little corner is surprisingly peaceful and generally pretty quiet.
Kroger grocery store is at 3rd and Central, along with Starbucks, Planet Fitness and the UofL gear store Cardville just on the other side of Churchill Downs near famous little ol’ Wagner's Diner.
Looking for local quirky stuff? Be sure to check out Tickled Pink at Calhoun & Taylor if you're into antiques and collectibles. Check out the new American Pharoah exhibit at Churchill Downs, and be sure to take in a horse race if the track is open! Take a short drive to the Highlands and stroll Bardstown Road. Beautiful Iroquois Park is just up Taylor Blvd and has some nice walking paths and great shows at the amphitheater. Check out their schedule at (URL HIDDEN)
As far as food, head south of Churchill Downs for international variety or towards downtown, UofL or the Highlands for more unique, upscale or traditional fare.
