The hammocks under the palms and traditional Mexican Acapulco style furniture lounge seating next to the pool create for a great place to re-charge. This peaceful, fresh space is a perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring the historic city center of Merida or a Mayan jungle adventures like, cenotes, Mayan ruins, beaches, or magical neighbor towns.

Casa Mangu was our favourite stay in Mexico! The rooms are spotless clean and comfortable and have great attention to detail, including decor but also things you may need that are not standard in other rooms. There’s a beautiful garden and a great kitchen that we felt very comfortable using. Mario and Rene are very friendly and professional! All the recommendations they gave us were absolutely worth it. Highly recommended!!!
We love Casa Magu! We stayed twice! So please read my other rave review. Magu is just exactly what we wanted and we would love to stay again.
Mario y René fueron anfitriones de lujo. Tuvimos que mover un poco la hora de entrada por el tráfico que encontramos y no tuvieron problema en esperarnos. El alojamiento estuvo muy hermoso y limpio, los espacios comunes eran acogedores para convivir. La habitación también fue muy hermosa con todos los servicios, aire, ventilador, tele y frigobar. Mario y René preparan desayunos muy naturales en la mañana, lo que más nos gustó fue su pan de elote . El lugar está muy cerca de paseo Montejo y del centro, donde también puede uno ir a comer de todo tipo. En resumen, toda la estancia estuvo genial. Gracias, Mario y René!
I loved my stay at Casa Magu. Not only is the place absolutely beautiful, Mario and Rene were the perfect hosts. I felt very welcome and it was a great place to spend the week. The location is perfect and there are great restaurants and bars within walking distance. I would definitely stay there again when I’m next in Merida.
Our family had the most amazing experience at Casa Magu! Mario and Rene have done such an amazing job creating a beautiful, welcoming space and they were the kindest hosts and such a help to us during our first stay in Mérida! We especially loved the pool and hammocks, along with a fresh breakfast each morning. The location was ideal— the neighborhood was quiet, but we were still able to easily walk to a ton of different restaurants, parks, and shopping. Thanks again for everything, we can’t wait to come back!

Casa Magu is located in the Santa Ana Neighborhood, We are conveniently close to major attractions in Centro and can get to most attractions with in a 8-15 min walk. This is a very peaceful and secure neighborhood and lots of travelers choose this neighborhood to stay. Merida centro is a very walkable city, filled with great architecture, shops, restaurants and culture. The historic city center is perfect for early morning and evening exploration for best enjoyment of the weather. There are several plazas with in the city center to enjoy with live music/events alternating every day of the week. Don't miss out! Some of Magu's favorites are; Plaza Santa Ana, Paseo Montejo, Parque Santa Lucia, Parque de los Hidalgos and plaza Grande. Also the famed Paseo Montejo is a very walkable distance. All from 8 to 15 minute walk away from CASA MAGU
Merida Historic city center is a very walkable city to explore and close to all main attractions with in 8 to 15 walk. Uber & traditional taxi is available in the entire city as well
