This place matched what I was expecting for the most part. It is an island so some things weren’t tip top shape but the staff always tried to jump in and fix anything we had pop up. Speaking of the staff, they really made this place worth the stay. They were so friendly and went above and beyond to make sure my family was having a great day. The beach was never crowded and had amazing views. The area seemed a little past its prime, as there are some abandoned buildings near by but we still found great places to eat and see nearby.

Great location and at times felt you had the place to yourself. Clean apartments and friendly staff. Note the lovely bar/restaurant next door is closed Sunday evening-Tuesday but imagine great if there while it's open.

Barrymore Beach Apartments are idyllically located on the beach adjacent to the Casa Roots restaurant. All the staff were extremely attentive and very friendly and nothing was too much for them.

We had such a wonderful week in this apartment the pictures do not do it justice. It’s a 30 second walk to a beautiful and unspoilt beach which most of the time is accessed only by people from the other apartments and Casa Roots beach bar and restaurant (which is on site and highly recommended) so sometimes we were the only people there. The calm waters of the beach were ideal for our 2 year old and Brian and Elinor were very helpful in arranging for a cot and high chair. The apartment itself was clean and spacious and had good facilities for cooking. Elinor also kindly picked us up some food from the supermarket before we arrived which was great so we could settle in on the first afternoon before heading out to the shops. The site is very quiet and peaceful except for the occasional evening where you can hear the music from beach clubs further down the road but we didn’t find it disturbing. All in all a wonderful stay so thank you Brian and Elinor and we hope to be back!

The positive: The beach is great, the staff helpful, good location, the size and layout of the unit was good. Great restaurant next door. The negative: A layer of dirt on ceiling fans, light fixtures, cabinet handles, etc. Felt like only a a light surface clean had been done. The unit is equipped to the bare minimum. Insufficient crockery, utensils, etc. The coffee maker made two cups at a time and looked like a cheap hotel room castoff. There were no basic essentials, ie: salt and pepper, sugar, spices, oil, etc. There were no books, games, or beach toys. There is a nightclub that is nearly adjacent. We were awakened every night as the place emptied out. We dealt with this by closing up the apartment as much as possible and running the air conditioning. This provided some help. (The air conditioning is new and works fantastic in the bedrooms).
