Situated in a quiet Rutland village ideally situated for attractions such as Rutland Water, Eyebrook Reservoir for amazing fishing and very popular with bird watchers. The property has a modern TV, kitchen, microwave, mini fridge, hairdryer, iron and ironing board The Plough Free house and the Castle Inn - both in Caldecott - offer an excellent pub / restaurant setting. A really lovely property good for extended family gatherings, or a group of friends. Very rustic and cosy. Mark was very communicative with us in the lead up to and on the day of arrival. Would recommend.
We had a great time. Really enjoyed our stay. There’s two great restaurants / pubs in walking distance and the property itself is lovely. Great for multiple couples to come away for the weekend as all of the rooms are spread out and allow for personal space. Mark was responsive, helpful and a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommend staying here!
Lovely property, mostly well appointed & clean. Nice linens & toiletries provided. A few basic details were missing though, such as all the tea apparatus but no tea bags, empty salt & pepper mills & no oven gloves. I would recommend & stay again though.
Wow, what a great find! Fantastic location, property and service. Three units in the same property. Upstairs a large apartment with two bedrooms (one large with king and single bed, one small with a curtain to close it off from the main area), a bathroom, a decent-sized kitchen and a large launch/dining room. Downstairs, two apartments with separate entrances - the Snug with a kitchen area, bathroom and bedroom, and the Dairy with a large bedroom and bathroom. All three are accessed by key, stored in a key safe outside the respective doors. The key codes were shared a few days ahead of our stay so very easy to deal with. There were seven of us using the three units and they were all super comfortable, very clean and easy to access. We only stayed a single night but had a super stay, gathering in the upstairs unit for dinner and the evening, and staying in our own spaces. Outside is lovely - lots of parking with a gate to keep things secure. There’s a great pub too. Recommended

England’s smallest county, Rutland,(population less than 40,000 people) has recently regained its independent county status from Leicestershire. Close to Leicester, Market Harborough, Corby and Kettering and near to the A14.
Rutland is now firmly established as a commercial 'hub'. It is renowned for such culinary delights as prizewinning Melton Mowbray pork pies, regional cheeses and locally brewed 'Grainstore Ales'. Food and drink apart, Caldecott and the county of Rutland have much to offer holidaymakers and business travellers alike.
The 'Old Plough' is situated on the main (A6003) road through Caldecott, opposite the village green and the Plough public house.
The village is located about three miles north of Corby, 8 miles north from junction 7 of the A14 and four miles south of Uppingham and Rutland Water.
The Plough Free house and the Castle Inn - both in Caldecott - offer excellent pub / restaurant setting.
For fishing, the Eyebrook Reservoir is about half a mile away and provides an infamous fishing experience.
Within a short drive there are many other attractions including Rockingham Castle, Rutland Water, Burghley House, Kirby Hall, Dene park and Adrenaline Alley
