In Toto Retreat is your ideal base to slow down, explore natural wonders, discover community markets or sign up for active adventures. We are located in the Island Conservancy in Sedgefield, Western Cape, South Africa. We are literally across the road from the Swartvlei lagoon, the largest and deepest in the Wilderness National Park, that is also home to the Knysna Seahorse. We are a birding destination with over 330 bird species, including the Goliath Heron and the iconic Knysna Turaco. The renowned Wild Oats Community Market and the Mosaic Craft Village are within walking distances. We have six beaches within a 10km radius, including the renowned Gericke's Point. The Sedgefield Mosaic route features 81 Mosaics dotted around town including the iconic VW Sedgfield beetle and the Seahorse at the entrance to Myoli Beach. We have a great selection of local restaurants catering to all tastes.

You can reach In Toto Retreat through flying in from Johannesburg via the George Airport. Taxi's, shuttle services and car rentals are available form George Airport. Contact us to arrange a shuttle for you if necessary. We are about a 6-hour drive from Cape Town on the N2 just past George and 3 hours from Gqeberha (formerly Port Elizabeth), and 35kms from Knysna. Our neighborhood is very safe with people taking daily walks at all times of the day. There is limited public transport available around Sedgefield so you do want to book a car if flying in to be able to explore the local area.
