Welcome to the Osprey Ridge back yard camping site, called this because it's located on the outskirts of our extensive 13-acre wooded property yet, still in our backyard. Come enjoy a "taste" of the great outdoors; but still be close to civilization. Pelican Lake is just a walk away and also near Voyagers State Park and the mouth of the Boundary Waters. We are not the only ones that have a glamping site, but we will try our best to be the best! This glamping idea was created years back while we were lying in a tiny uncomfortable tent on the ground, in a noisy, crowded and loud campground, we thought to ourselves we can sure do better than this.
Let Osprey Ridge be an overnight stop on your way through or a place for you to enjoy a nice long relaxing weekend. You will be sleeping in a new 13' White Duck Avalon Dome tent with no-seeum proof netting covering the door and all the windows. Your night will be spent in a comfortable full-size bed with lots of pillows and fluffy blankets! If you have children please bring a couple of twin air mattresses; there is plenty of room or you can have them pitch a tent nearby. Cell service is pretty good and on occasion you can even catch our slow Wi-Fi for basic web surfing. Sorry, no electricity on site but your more than welcome to bring a generator since you will be our only guests. We follow strict rules of washing and sanitizing all blankets and sheets for every visitor. We provide extra blankets and pillows for you if needed for those cool summer nights. Go on into town and head South 1 mile to The Dam Supper Club for a great meal, now serving breakfast on the weekends and maybe even some cocktails in the evenings, or a short hike into town and sit at the small beach. Orr does have a fishing dock in town for the kids and plenty of those giant bluegills for them to catch. We are in Northern Minnesota where there are plenty of pesky bugs so bring your bug spray. Go on outside at night and sit in your chairs or even lie on the picnic table and watch sky that is so clear you can even see satellites zooming by. If nature calls a short walk down our solar lit trail to our clean and sanitized outhouse, sorry no running water for you at the outhouse but we now have clean water about 60' from your tent. Enjoy the eerie rumble of the trains passing through town or the train whistle from afar but don't worry the train tracks and highway they are hundreds of yards away. This glamping area is a great place for you and the family to come and visit and be part of the outdoors but not too far from civilization that you can still enjoy some of the little amenities that Orr can offer. Go for a hike in the woods, hike the bog walk, visit the Vince Shute Bear Sanctuary and do some bird watching or mushroom hunting, we border plenty of state land. If you're interested in more of an Adventure leave town and head East on Highway 23 to Andersons Canoe Outfitters and take a trip the boundary waters or just rent a canoe for a relaxing paddle. You can expect to see countless deer and other wildlife, even a possible visit from a very friendly little lapdog or two. We have a beautiful new picnic table and fire ring to relax around and tell stories, smoking is permitted outside but NEVER in the tent. Firewood harvesting is permitted and even suggested on the property but no fires outside of the ring. We love fireworks as much as the next person, but they are not permitted, forest fires start very easily, and it scares the local doggies. Come on up to Northern Minnesota's Osprey Ridge Backyard Camping and smell the fresh air and enjoy new lasting memories, we truly look forward to you visiting us.

When you come up Hillcrest Dr. also called 1st. Ave. on some GPS units you, will see arrows on your right at the top of the hill which will lead you in the right direction past our home. There is a lit sign on your right by the large Red Pine Tree.
Do not go onto the gravel road since this is past the site. You can drive right to the site, but we recommend parking by the portable toilet and walking into your private area which is very close.
