Staying at the Pink Post Office Cottage allows you to enjoy the spacious panoramic views of the countryside, with a whole range of activities and places to explore close at hand.
The market town of Bungay is a short 3 mile walk, cycle or car ride away. Mettingham church and castle are walking distance from the accommodation.
Days can be spent locally exploring the market towns of Beccles and Bungay which are full of quaint shops, eateries.
Walking / Rambling
The Angles Way passes within a couple of minutes walk of our house and is a local attraction for ramblers and walkers:
"Angles Way was devised by the RA, and together with the Peddars Way, Norfolk Coast Path and Weavers' Way, forms the 227-mile Around Norfolk Walk.
"At Bungay, there is a link into the waymarked Bigod Way (10 miles) which is a circular route around the town, the site of Bigod's Castle."
Yoga
David Harvey Yoga based a 3 minute drive from the Cottage can provide personal and bespoke sessions for all levels.
Swimming
Beccles Lido is 8 minutes down the road by car and many people also swim in the local rivers and nearby beaches. Research should be done and care taken to ensure the selected river swimming spot is safe as there are several weirs and waters can be very cold at the start of the summer season.
Boating
Canoes and paddleboards - can be hired from Outney Meadow, Bungay, Suffolk NR35 1 HG
(less than 5 mins drive from The Cottage.
Day launch electric boats can be hired by the day or half day from Hippersons Boat Yard, Beccles.
Days out
There are a range of Regional places to explore: Africa Alive, Southwold with its old world charm and quirky pier and Great Yarmouth pleasure Beach, as well as the very local Flixton Aviation Museum, great country pubs and pretty artisan shops.

Bungay: The Stonehouse - for pizzas, The Fleece for delicious Sunday Lunches, Earsham tea rooms, Green Dragon pub.

A little out of town but a few minutes from the Pink Post Office is the Urban Jungle - a must visit for a unique plant shopping and eating experience.
There are also local Micro breweries (as well as Southwold's Adnams brewery and distillery) and vineyards to explore. you may like to chack out our favourites:

Want a day out without the car?
The 580 Border Bus stops outside our house (you just have to flag it down) every hour. This takes you into central Beccles where you can pick up connections to other places, including the fabulous city of Norwich.

If you wish to use public transport, the Beccles / Great Yarmouth Border Bus 580 stops right outside our house (you will need to flag it down) every hour and connections to the Beccles train station and other buses are easy to make in Beccles.
