My boyfriend and I stayed here for six days on our first trip to Oslo. We had one issue at the start of our stay but this was resolved quickly by the hosts, everything else was perfect and we loved our stay here. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and the house was exactly as listed.
We stayed here for 30 days, and it was amazing; it was literally our home away from home and made our stay in Oslo very pleasant. The location is such that you can reach anywhere in Oslo in 20–30 minutes by bus.
Fantastisk minihus! Vi følte oss virkelig som hjemme✨ Nærme st.hanshaugen og grunerløkka og gåavstand fra sentrum! AC svarte raskt og var til stor hjelp! Anbefaler virkelig dette stedet!
The apartment is in walking distance to the trendy Grünerløkka district known for charming atmosphere and a lively restaurant and night life, Mathallen - which is a GREAT food market! And beautiful St Hanshaugen park which is a popular recreational park for locals that sometimes features FREE outdoor cinemas. Downtown is 12-15 minutes away on foot, and you walk down to the Royal Palass in less than 20 minutes.
Restaurant/Pub advice:
Smalhans - Bib gourmand, specials on dinner every day between 16:00 - 18:00 only 175 NOK for quality dinner.
Åpent Bakeri Tranen - Oslo best pizza, 300 m away.
Colonel Mustard - Great place for a beer, board games available. 300 m away.
Mathallen - Oslo's food market, lots of restaurants, delicatessen and bars. Only 600 metres away.
Oslo offers convenient public transportation, and short distances makes it easy to get around by walking or biking.
All the public transport in Oslo is part of the same ticket and price system, operated by Ruter. Ruter's tickets are valid for buses, trams, subways, ferries (not the Bygdøy ferry) and local trains.
Tram and bus tickets costs 39 kroners (only valid for 1 hour – 24 hours tickets costs 105kr) and can be bought at kiosks like 7-Eleven, Narvesen, Deli De Luca or on the RUTER ticket app on your phone.
PS: it’s NOT possible to buy tickets directly on the bus or tram. For the metro (called T-bane marked with a “T” and a circle around) you can buy tickets from the ticket machine on the station.
Oslo City Bike rental
Oslo is perfect to explore with a city bike! You would need to download the “Oslo Bysykkel” app in able to rent the bikes. It costs 49kr (6 USD) for a day pass. A bike city bike stand is just right outside.
Electric scooters
Electric scooters are also a very popular transportation alternative and also a nice way to see the city, if the weather allows it. There are several different companies in operation and they all need a seperate app.
