This area of town is safe! You can walk to the grocery store, gas stations, coffee shops and restaurants... Each of them is within a few blocks of the house. Jewel Lake is the closest lake. It has a sandy beach, swimming area, playground, zipline, sand volleyball court, table tennis, picnic and bbq areas. Across the way, there is also a favorite fishing hole, where people go to fish off of the dock.
Sand Lake school is just down the street. There is public access to the lake behind the school. This area has two playgrounds, basketball courts, a track, hockey rink, and a fishing/ swimming area. You can find ice fishing, skating and skiing at these lakes throughout the winter.
DeLong Lake nearby is also a favorite for fishing, floating and skating!
Little Campbell creek is also a favorite for fishing and floating. It has a beautiful walking and biking trail near it as well.
Alaska's famed Kincaid park features ski trails all winter, as well as miles of beautiful coastline, walking and biking trails, sledding hills and frisbee golf.

Anchorage has a great public bus system, taxis, uber and lyft. This neighborhood has walking and biking trails around the whole area.
