Overlooking the beautiful South Wales mountains. you can be as active or chilled as you like. You can stroll along the canal bank, catch a train from Risca train station which is 4minutes walk away (270yds) to Cardiff to an event (30 minutes by train). You can cycle or walk in the Cwmcarn Forest Drive 5 miles away or the Syrhowy Valley trail enjoyable for all levels of fitness and ability. You can relax and enjoy the lovely cottage in the light, comfortable indoor space or the pretty garden. There is a well equipped kitchen with a table that sits 4 people. A shower room with washbasin and toilet. The two bedrooms have two double beds but they can be altered to make single beds if preferred - please message me with the bedding arrangements that best suits you. The lounge has a television and DVD player. (There are some DVD's - I can give you a list). There is a sitting/ dining room where you can eat or sit and read, work or look out of the window at the mountain.

We had a lovely stay at Ranikhet in Risca. David was a great host, very communicative and helpful. The house had a lovely outside area, that we didn’t fully utilise because of the rainy weather. The house is great design and very spacious and perfect for our family. We enjoyed our Christmas there. Thank you David.
My 92 year old grandmother stayed here to be close to family for a week. This place was perfect as it was all on one level, she has mobility issues and was able to get around the bungalow perfectly without help. She was also thrilled to be able to walk out into the beautiful garden and sit on the bench to enjoy some fresh air. The bathroom has a walk in shower which again was perfect for someone who needs accessible spaces. The kitchen is well equipped to make meals. The whole property is well maintained and spotlessly clean. The host has been excellent, easy communication throughout, he has been brilliant and very helpful with anything my gran needed. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in the area.

David is a very kind and thoughtful host. The bungalow is beautifully presented, spotless and equipped with everything you could possibly need. There was a lovely (and much appreciated) welcome pack which David had told us about so there was no need to worry about milk, bread etc. On arrival there was a huge, comfy dog bed and a pack of dental treats - Lily (our new rescue) was beside herself! We were very comfortable and confident that David was available for any queries. One small note to dog owners, you do need to close the gates at the bottom of the drive as the garden extends around the bungalow. Thank you David .
David’s house is comfy, clean and even nicer than the photos! We had a lovely few days and would highly recommend David’s house. Super comfy bed, well stocked kitchen and gorgeous views across the valleys. The little details of welcome breakfast and treats for our dog were very thoughtful and appreciated. We have friends who live locally so we will definitely want to stay here again when we next come to Wales.

I enjoyed my career but I now really enjoy cooking for my family, travelling and relaxing in West Wales. I enjoy watching the Tour de France and Cricket.
