Cars can be included if agreed. A cozy private home situated in Mosfellsbær, pretty and quiet part of the capital area - away from the buzz of the downtown area but still within easy reach. It offers stunning sea and mountain views, bright rooms, big living space, outdoor jacuzzi, fireplace and a private garden. Great for day trips around the country, as its very close to the main ring road around Iceland. Back on Airbnb after some time away and have always had very good reviews. Our house is around 150 square meters. It has 4 bedrooms, a big living room, kitchen, washing room and 2 bathrooms (one with shower and bath). The master bedroom has a king size bed, and the 2 kids room's both have a 90x200cm bed (with one pull it can easily be made double) and teenage room has a 120x200 bed. Towels and linens are provided. The house is our home and is therefore fully equipped with everything a family would typically need! In the summer there is barbeque in the garden, trampoline for the kids and garden table and chairs. Some outdoor kids toys and family games are also available. We are willing to lend our bikes upon request.

Kjartan was a great host, by far the most communicative host I've stayed with. This was a great location outside of Reykjavik so I didn't have to deal with parking in the city, and could get to other sites easily.
Absolutely perfect! Very friendly hosts, very responsive and thoughtful. The house is very comfortable, equipped with all the comforts. Very comfortable main bed and others as well. In the house nice toys for kids of different ages. We would love to come back and totally recommend. Thanks for us.
Meget flot hus. Alt meget rent. Stor have og et virkelig dejligt jacuzzi, som vi brugte, selv om der var sne. Det var fantastisk at sidde der og føle sig varm, selv om det var koldt udenfor og kigge på den fantastiske himmel. Der er en smuk udsigt fra baghave og jacuzzi og vi forestiller os, at det også må være virkelig dejligt om sommeren. Kjartan er en meget hensynsfuld og imødekommende vært.
The air b n b experience was amazing. A stunning authentic Icelandic home with everything needed for a home away from home. The location was very handy and beautiful mountain surroundings. The communication with the host was fantastic . We organised an induction video call, received videos with instructions and the host communicated in a timely manner when questions were asked. We even received travel tips. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was perfect for our toddler.

Family friendly- totally quiet in the afternoon and during night. Common playground for the neighborhood in viewing distance (2 min away). There are two outdoor swimming pools and spa's in Mosfellsbær and one of them is only in 5 min walking distance. The other one has access to gym and is 5 min drive away, or 15 min walking and is one of the best public swimming pools in Iceland. Three golf courses are in close proximity and also a horse rental- with pickup possible. In the area there are many hiking and biking paths.
The commercial center is only 0,5 km away and therefore within a few min walking distance. There you can find all necessary service, i.e. supermarkets (best price), bakery, petrol station, banks, post office and pharmacy. There are also a few restaurants within walking distance. Guests can charge their electric vehicles in the parking lot close by (3 min walk).
The bus station is 130 m (2 min) away and there you can take bus downtown. Also the countryside buses traveling to the west and north of Iceland stop 3 min away. To get to downtown center Reykjavik, it takes only 25 min with a bus or 15 min with a private car. Mosfellsbær is situated close to the main ring road to the west/north and south/east of Iceland, and therefore its ideal for day trips around the country- with no time wasted on traffic in the city center (and no traffic lights to get on the main ring road).

Now as a family man, I appreciate the extra experience of home stays- and think it is a good way to get a glimpse of the local culture and to get in contact with locals.
