This was a great place to stay in Rome! While it is only a private room, I felt very comfortable and had the same access to amenities that I would have with my own place. Guido went over my space and the apartment. I would stay here again, both because of the host and the room.

perfect communication with Guido, and good reception, he was really nice and showed us a bit around. the room is clean and comfortable, just with a small window at street level which is not an issue, otherwise everything is really good, the bathroom as well is clean and it has everything, it's a beautiful place and is close to many things, restaurants around and the collosseum is few streets away. I recommend it.

The building is architecturally very interesting but updated/renovated in the right areas. It’s not obvious from the pictures perhaps, but the unit is in the basement/underground level of the building. Also, while not a problem for my stay, in the summer heat you are not able to use the air conditioning overnight between 11pm-7am due to a neighborhood noise ordinance.

Since we got to Rome very early, we arranged with Guido to meet at 1000. He let us leave our luggage, gave us the keys, and showed us around. This allowed us to spend the day exploring instead of also dragging our luggage around with us. Regarding the apt, we had one of the rooms in the basement (which was also the level of the kitchen). We had a separate, but private bath from our room. There were plenty of outlets in our room, and 3 Wi-Fi routers in the house so a good connection from anywhere within the apt. While we could tell there were other guests staying in some of the other apartments in the house, no one was loud and we rarely saw any of the other residents. There was more sound from folks walking and talking along the street but it was a pleasant sound. Also there is a noise ordinance rule in the neighborhood allowing for quiet time from 2300-0730. We loved the stone work throughout the house and the location was perfect to the sights within the historic center of Rome!!! The regional train was nearby (we bought a 48 hour pass). We took the B line train to the Colosseum and Palatine Hill where we spent the day and then walked back to the house. Another day we took the B line to the Spanish Steps, then walked over to Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, and the Trevi Fountain. We enjoyed the walk between and then back to the house soaking in the wonderful architecture, restaurants, and gelato along the way. Guido and Chiara’s house is both beautiful and in an exceptional location. The were very helpful hosts. I am so glad we found this gem and decided to use only the regional services and our feet to fully explore!!
