We had a great five day stay at Thomas’ place in Culebra. It was a great location for us and we enjoyed the drive home every evening after exploring the beaches. We had favorite spots along the way where we looked for iguanas, wild horses, crabs and turtles. The AC in the house was strong, and the kitchen had everything we needed to make our meals. We also rented Thomas’ car and that was a great deal and experience as well. Snorkeling at Tamarindo and Melones was fantastic (sea turtles, rays, and so many tropical fish)! We weren’t expecting too much snorkeling at Flamenco Beach, where we spent three days, but if you walk all the way right to the shark cages, there’s actually a great shallow reef for snorkeling. Flamenco Beach ended up being the perfect balance for young kids and those of us who wanted to snorkel. It was so great to have a washer and dryer at this house, after day long trips to the beach. We also appreciated the beach chairs! It’s a beautiful location!

Lugar aislado de la ciudad. Muy tranquilo y cerca de la playa Zoni, hermosa para pasar el día. Camino no pavimentado. Propiedad útil para tener lo básico:ducha con agua caliente, cocinar y descansar, servicios de lavadora, secadora y TV con Internet (Netflix). Thomas siempre está atento a los mensajes y responde bastante rápido para cualquier duda de los servicios. Alrededores y adentro no la encontramos con un buen mantenimiento por parte del servicio de limpieza. No es satisfactorio cuando hay costos por mantenimiento y encontramos la propiedad con hierba o césped muy alta (daña propiedad y trae sabandija), aparte de que habían unos panales de avispas por debajo de la mesa que no permitió que aprovecharamos esos espacios en el exterior. El grill sin mantenimiento. El baño tenía superficies, toallas con polvo y limpieza muy superficial. Comedor con residuos de comida en sillas, cuarto con basura en esquinas y abanicos con polvo. Buena alternativa si mejoran los detalles en limpieza.

The Zoni retreat is a secluded and quaint place near Zoni beach. It is definitely outside of town and in the country, so if that is what you are looking for then this a decent option. The property is a bit quirky and has the basic amenities and a few add-one like washer/dryer and Wi-Fi. There were some clear oversights by the housekeeper as linens/towels were left in the dryer and the place was not cleaned completely prior to our arrival. I booked late and would probably choose a different place if I come back to Culebra that is more central and is less rural. It rained while we were there and there are some leaks in the room as well. Also, would recommend a Jeep or other 4wd here. Thomas responded fairly quickly and was able to help with a couple of items. The place will accommodate 7, but we had 5 and that seemed like a good balance with one bathroom. Overall a good option in Fraille and for those looking to avoid the crowds and noise of in town accommodations.
