A lovely house in a great location. We felt the accommodation was undersold as we didn't appreciate how nice the garden room was, plus the so called "child beds" were actually full sized. The listing also indicated there was no TV or heating, which was incorrect and other comments in the listing contradicted this. There were 9 adults in the party and felt there was plenty of room for us all. The kitchen was well equipped, good quality crockery, furniture & decor. It was a bit of a problem that we had 5 cars between us but we were still able to park on the drive with a bit of juggling. One negative point was the poor comms in advance of the stay; I sent 2 emails with queries at separate times but didn't receive a response to either; there was a long wait to get though to the Keswick office by phone & the person I spoke to did not have any specific knowledge of this property. Nevertheless we were impressed by the accommodation & would certainly stay again.

This airbnb did meet our expectations, based on the price we had a much higher expectation of the accommodation. The pictures, particularly the garden, are misleading and old. The house, furniture and equipment is actually quite dated (other than the TV in the living room). The house was not clean, full of old cobweb’s in easy to reach places. The ground floor bedrooms had a damp smell. Felt we needed to clean and hover before we could sit comfortably. The location for us was great as we love the Northern Lakes. The Neighbours are locals who were very friendly and chatty. They seem to collect a ‘lot of stuff’ which did not worry us at all but could worry some people as this again is not shown in any of the photos. Cottages,com made out this was was a lived in home which clearly is not the case. This is purely a holiday let which has been ‘slightly neglected’. With a little more love and care, attention to detail and a deep clean, this could then be a great holiday let.

The location and the cottage was beautiful. The only issue was with the parking and reversing out of the cottage a bit narrow. overall, a beautiful place and the grandchildren enjoyed the outdoor space, plenty of birds and we saw red squirrels in the garden.

Absolutely gorgeous holiday house in a beautiful location. The only negative was that Cottages dot com didn't reply to any of the queries I sent previous to the holiday via airbnb and I had a panic the last week because the details of how to get in didn't come until 24 hours before we we due to enter and I was worried that as they hadn't replied to any of my messages there was something amiss with the booking. Thankfully it all worked out ok but I have found it far more enjoyable dealing with the cottage owners themselves rather than a company.

We had a great week staying at Netherend - stunning views of Blencathra from the garden, very comfortable living rooms (including a smart TV we weren't even expecting), only a few minutes from main road into Keswick, plenty of space around, all was clean and well maintained. Also was great to have glorious sunnshine for the whole week.
