This was our second stay at Bell Cottage and it was just as lovely as the last time. The hosts are friendly and welcoming (and provide the best lemon drizzle cake!) and the cottage itself is beautiful. It also has everything you need, and is incredibly snug. We loved the character of the place and the children had a great time exploring the garden. We will definitely be back again.
We absolutely loved the cottage, a prefect mix of period features and all the latest mod cons. Sue and Peter were lovely hosts and we were perfectly located to visit the surrounding coastal towns and English heritage sites. Plenty of walks nearby too. It was blissful to get away from it all, light a fire in the magnificent fireplace in the evening and have a cuppa in the bright and friendly kitchen in the morning. Our kids loved it too, plenty of boardgames to keep them occupied and a little playground nearby.
Unfortunately we were unable to use the upstairs as the stairs were extremely steep and we did not feel safe going up and down them, also the banister at the stop was quite unsteady. This resulted in my mum my daughter and myself having to sleep downstairs on the 2 sofas and also buy a blow up bed. The cottage itself was lovely and very spacious and clean and the home made lemon cake was a nice little touch and delicious 😋 😀
We had a peaceful and relaxing holiday, which is exactly what we wanted to get away from it all. The cottage was within reasonable driving distance to local pubs. We visited coastal towns/villages of Walberswick, Dunich and Sizewell beaches to walk our dog, exploring and then stopping for lunch at the Royal Oak in Laxfield , the Bell Inn in walberswick, the Eels Foot in East Bridge, Leiston. Not all on the same day. 😂 overall a nice break away.
We had such a lovely stay at Bell Corner Cottage. It is such a beautiful home from home with quality fixtures and fittings. It had everything you would need plus extra nice touches left by the owners that made us feel really welcome. Myself and my family would highly recommend for a peaceful stay in a wonderful period home in the Suffolk countryside.
