I traveled solo to Progreso and felt at home during my stay at the Mayan Gypsy. Aly is an amazing person and business owner. She created a space that is serene, comfortable, and secure. The room was spacious and beautiful, as are the shared spaces filled with so many plants and flowers. Aly and Sonia provided local recommendations and arranged transportation to Merida for excursions. The location of the hotel is at the beginning of the boardwalk and easily accessible to restaurants and shops. Seriously, book your room here. You won’t be disappointed.

Magical Airbnb- even more beautiful than the photos. Wonderful communication with Aly, and on-site Sonia is an asset to this property. This is the cleanest and most serene place I have ever started. Everything is perfect, can't say enough enough good things about The Mayan Gypsy!!
