In short, the unit is in a great location with a nice-sized pool right on the beach. However, the house was not maintained as one would expect for a house at this price point. One of the bathrooms had black mold on the entire ceiling and creeping down the walls. A maintenance man did come to scrub the room with Tilex but this would not be a permanent fix. The outdoor area had 4 glass lights. All were cracked and the lanterns were hanging from the fixture only by dangling wires. It would be very easy for them to break and have glass shatter on the pool deck. The pool deck had multiple loose boards and the outdoor shower was rusted and cracked. Similarly wooden floor boards especially on the second floor were not properly connected and had large bubbles. The AC also broke the first night we were there. Multiple calls were made the following morning before being able to reach the property manager. Messages were left but contact was only made after repeated phone calls. Maintenance came later that day and provided 4 window AC’s to keep the home cool. I texted all of this information to the property manager 3 days prior. Surprisingly, I have yet to receive a response. Previous communication via Airbnb came from multiple sources. I never communicated directly with Julie. The property has lots of potential, but the quality/maintenance of the home does not meet the level required for this price point.
