Cris’s place is magical! We loved our stay. The location and setting is perfect for relaxing by the river. The bedding is comfortable, the rooms are cozy with their own door & light-dimming curtains. The kitchenette worked great for The seating under the willow tree is great for birding early mornings and taking in the beautiful landscape. As well we were able to visit many sights & excursions close to the rental. Cris was very responsive and provided many recommendations in the area. We would love to return to visit all the nearby trails. Best wishes!

It is off the beaten path a bit, but well worth it. It is a small space with a small kitchenette area as he explains in his listing. However, it really is a cool spot once you get down in there. They have created a really cool space outdoors right on the Rio Grande. Would like to come and stay in the summer, I'll bet it's awesome.

A hidden gem. We had a lovely getaway and spent most of the weekend relaxing by the river. The private beach is quite large and we did not feel crowded or disturbed by other visitors or the neighbors. The owner(s) have clearly put a lot of effort into carefully incorporating their new renovations into the pre-existing natural surroundings and preserving the local fauna. It didn't feel like a resort that had paved over natural habitat. I wish I could put it into better words, but the property is definitely "one" with the natural surroundings, and we really appreciated that. We saw an abundance of wildlife, including ducks, geese, lightning bugs, various birds, fish, bats, owls, and deer. Each day at twilight, the lightning bugs would hang out by the river, and we would watch them until the sky darkened. Truly magical. The facilities were exceptionally clean and well-kept. We didn't use the AC during our stay because the weather was so nice, but we did notice an AC in each room, which is nice. Based on previous reviews and the listing description which clearly describes the cooking amenities, we brought snacks and other edibles that did not require cooking. There were three of us, and we had the mini-fridge completely packed for a three-day weekend. I'm not sure the space could accommodate many more people for more than a few days due to this. We couldn't leave food out do to the presence of ants, which is normal for this part of New Mexico (we have ants on and off at home and do not use pesticides). Definitely plan to eat out for most of your visit. It is about a 30-40 minute drive to Taos, but there is an awesome restaurant 2-3 minutes down the road called the Blue Heron that we frequented.

Beautiful place. Very quaint and cozy. It felt outdoorsy being there but without actually camping. The location is fantastic and very relaxing next to the river and the giant willow tree.
