Also ideal for guests who enjoy a cycling or walking holiday, there are numerous established footpaths, cycle paths and bridleways that lead straight from the village and out into the heart of beautiful Swaledale, Wensleydale and Arkengarthdale, through some of the popular villages and towns nearby which include Gunnerside, Hawes, Keld, Thwaite, Low Row, Fremington and Reeth which all lie within a ten mile radius. There are many excellent local pubs, restaurants and country inns which provide the perfect resting place before, during or after a long walk or cycle. For guests wishing to hire a bike there is even a bike hire centre in nearby Fremington.
