There is a traditional butcher on the village green and two local vineyards to enjoy. For those interested in fishing, within 5 miles there are fishing lakes featuring carp, tench and perch. A value base for couples, Hartest is an easy drive from the Suffolk Heritage Coast and Constable Country. It is equidistant between the market towns of Bury St Edmunds and Sudbury, close to Lavenham, Long Melford and Ickworth. Good walks abound directly from the property. Delightful, compact accommodation in a pretty village next door to a decent pub and restaurant.
Very quiet location.Nearest shops are about 5 miles away apart from a butchers.Pub next door.We did not use it but they did not disturb us maybe because it was November.Garden was untidy with leaves which made it very slippery.
The village of Hartest is quaint and a good location for travelling to Bury St.Edmunds and Lavenham but the cottage was not up to my expectations, it just did not feel clean and comfortable.
Great little place would definitely stop there again
Nicely located cottage in the centre of the village but sill very private.
