My 60th birthday treat, and retreat. Bruce’s place is a well-hidden gem. Cosy, clean, unpretentious. Amazing grounds - superb for the pooch. All to yourself too! Lovely to meet Bruce - easygoing and welcoming host who shared some of his story, for which I thank him. Some stunning villages within a stone’s throw - this area steeped in history. Go visit :-).

WOW!! What a beautiful place. Key was in the door when we arrived. House was spotless and had everything you wanted. Heating and fire was on when we arrived, lovely and toasty. We settled in straight away. Our little dog settled really well. She loved the use of the garden/back field. Bruce came and chatted to us, he is a really lovely man. When the heating went off, Bruce came straight over. We meet Lauren and Reg the dog who were lovely too. Very comfy bed, really nice restaurants and shops near by. Had such a great few days. Will definitely be going back.

This is a wonderful cottage in a great location. We wanted a quiet New Year's eve and didn't hear a pip or squeak from any fireworks. The cottage is finished to a really high standard and looks out on to a green expanse and lake in the distance. It was too wet to wander about too much but I expect it would be amazing in the summer. The local village has everything as well as a National Trust property (closed for New Year though). Bruce is very helpful and an excellent host.
