My family of four stayed at Athenian Niche for seven nights. The Plaka neighborhood is excellent. It’s close to shopping, restaurants, ATM, and grocery store. Our host Anna and her team were very helpful and always communicated quickly. The evening the door keypad quit working could have been disastrous, but Anna responded quickly and told us where to find a spare key. She also arranged transfers from and to the airport. She was especially accommodating in making all the updates I had to make because of flight changes. The drivers were always friendly, helpful, and prompt. The kitchen is roomy and convenient for preparing breakfast. It is stocked with coffee, sugar, and a coffee pot and several other appliances. We used the electric teapot the most. There are plenty of dishes and pots and pans. We ever used the dishwasher, so I can’t speak to that, but the washer and dryer worked well. Be sure to bring your own washing pods. This is a beautiful home right in Plaka. It is large, well appointed, and has lots of beds. There are numerous fantastic restaurants within a few meters, some grocery stores nearby, and within an easy walk of most of what you want to see in downtown Athens, including the Acropolis, Monastiraki, Roman Forum, and lots more. And the Acropolis just hovers over your shoulder the whole time. What a location.

This place is an excellent value for a larger group traveling together. It is well appointed and extremely convenient for seeing the main downtown attractions. Stairway to the fourth bedroom (attic loft) is in the third bedroom, but otherwise the rooms are private and very comfortable. Inner rooms are very quiet, but some street noise gets in through the courtyard on busy nights. You are located, after all, in a very popular night spot for locals and tourists. Nearby restaurants have live music and people are walking by outside. This added to the charm for us, but may not be everyone's preference.

On a street with virtually no traffic, v close to the Acropolis and a few minutes walk from Monasteriakos square. Spacious lounge, well equipped kitchen, excellent bathrooms. Note that the attic area, with two single beds and tv area, is reached from the front bedroom. Not a problem for us but not good if everyone wants privacy. Anna and Dimitris met us to check in, answered all our queries quickly and booked a taxi for us to leave. Top hosts!
